Emi Sakura def. Rachelle RiveterSakura's role has been firmly established as someone who can work with the younger women on the AEW roster and lend them experience. Her recent match on Dark against Billie Starkz was a perfect example of that. As I always say, she wins these matches so it means more when she's eventually beaten. That's why we get as many squashes as we do on the Dark shows, but at least she's been showing more personality this past year and thus I don't mind her matches as much.

Joe Alonzo def. PJ HawxJamie Stanley just debuted as Alonzo's new manager, so it made sense for Alonzo to go over here and start building momentum. Alonzo has always been skilled in the ring, but Stanley should be able to add some personality to his act. This was a basic, well-worked match designed to give Alonzo a win. My only nitpick is that Alonzo's finisher is basically The Miz's Skull Crushing Finale and that was all I could think of when he used it. I know people share finishers all the same, but Miz has had that move for almost 15 years and it will forever be synonmoous with him.
AEW World Trios Champions The Young Bucks def. Aussie OpenI couldn't believe it when Aussie Open said recently that hadn't been booked by any promotion in several months. They're a terrific team and I hope they find a permanent home somewhere soon. Having them eliminated from the tag team Battle Royale on Wednesday's Dynamite in anticlimactic fashion didn't bode well for their chances of beating the Bucks here (even with the lights going out briefly due to House of Black), but it was a very entertaining opener as expected and they were given plenty of time. House of Black attempted to attack them afterward but disappeared when the lights went out again. I'd be surprised if that Trios title match wasn't added to Revolution.
Axiom def. Kale DixonDixon has fared well for himself in the last few matches I've seen him have and having him work with guys like Axiom will only benefit him in the long run. He scored some offense, but this was largely about Axiom as it should have been. I'm still not sold on the silly mask, but he's excellent in the ring and always brings the best out of his opponents. This was a nice little match while it lasted.
Imperium (Intercontinental Champion Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) def. Madcap Moss, Braun Strowman and RicochetGunther had history with all three of his opponents in this match, having beaten each of them on separate occasions to retain his Intercontinental Championship in recent months. I was worried one of them might pick up the pinfall win to build to a rematch with Gunther, but thankfully, that was not the case. This was a solid six-man tag team match with the right result. Drew McIntyre watching from the stage hints at him being next in line for a title opportunity, though I hope Sheamus is involved and it's a Triple Threat at WrestleMania 39. Also, The Viking Raiders are still feuding with McIntyre and Sheamus? Haven't they lost to them twice already?
