Jaxson Ryker def. Drew GulakRyker receiving a flat reaction during his entrance hardly surprised me, but to his credit, the crowd seemed to warm up to him by the end. Personally, I find him to be completely bland as a babyface and just in general, so he's right where he should be on Main Event. Gulak has always deserved better, but he's settled into his role as an enhancement guy and I've lost all hope that he'll ever be pushed at a level higher than where he is right now. This was a perfectly serviceable match, but most of Ryker's matches do nothing for me.

The Elite (AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks, and Impact World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers) def. "Hangman" Adam Page and The Dark Order (John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Stu Grayson and Evil Uno) in a 5-on-5 Elimination Tag Team MatchIf Page and Dark Order won, they would have been awarded shots at the AEW World Championship (for Page) and at the AEW World Tag Team Championship (for two members of Dark Order), but because The Elite won, none of them get title shots. Obviously, I expect we're still getting Page vs. Omega at some point, most likely at All Out, but I'm curious how they'll get there now. The match itself was a ton of fun. I typically don't like the rapid-fire eliminations, but I thought the order of eliminations was well done here. The entrances were also awesome for different reasons. My biggest nitpick with this match was that there was way too much interaction between Page and Omega. I would have saved them finally coming to blows until All Out, but even if not, they didn't need to give away so much in this matchup. Omega pinning Page was questionable as well, but I'm sure the endgame remains the same with Page beating him for the AEW World Championship, regardless of who's being brought in soon.
#AskGSM is a weekly Q&A video where I, Graham "GSM" Matthews, answer fan questions from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in regards to the world of wrestling. Nothing is off limits, and this week's edition touches upon a variety of topics including:
Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan def. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy ThatcherConsidering both these teams wrestle similar styles, it was no surprise that this was as entertaining and as hard-hitting as it was. Ciampa and Thatcher have turned into a terrific team this year while Dunne has filled in nicely for the injured Danny Burch as Lorcan's partner. The Ridge Holland return was a pleasant surprise and I like how he's picking up where he left off by aligning himself with Dunne and Lorcan. I hadn't heard anything about his road to recovery from that nasty injury he suffered last year, so I'm happy he's back already.
Red Velvet def. Alejandra LionVelvet is the perfect example of someone who can continue to benefit greatly from competing on the Dark shows. It's an obvious step down from being on Dynamite like she was fairly regularly earlier this year, but she's getting exposure in addition to the experience she needs. And wouldn't you know it, she's showing signs of improvement. Like I said last week, I dig her new Playmaker-esque finisher. Keeping this on the shorter side was a good call.
