Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) def. Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta and Io Shirai & Zoey Stark in a Scareway to Hell Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match to Win the NXT Women's Tag Team ChampionshipThis was a train wreck in both the best and worst way possible. There were some ugly spots as well as some scary spots (the inexperience of a lot of the people involved is arguably to blame for that), but there were some really cool-looking spots as well. All in all, it was a wild opener. Toxic Attraction are the hot ticket right now and were the right choice to take the titles. I'm really hoping Shirai can move on to something more meaningful or be moved to either Raw and SmackDown. Then again, maybe that wouldn't be in her best interest, either.

Bobby Fish def. Invictus KashFish has only been in AEW for a few weeks and he's already off to a strong start with some of the matches he's had. Plus, I'll never get tired of hearing that "Dance Away" entrance music. Tomorrow is his birthday and he'll be wrestling CM Punk on Dynamite, so that's a hell of a gift. This was a short and sweet showcase for Fish ahead of that. I liked that he got some mic time afterward to address Punk.
Melina def. Kylie Rae and Chelsea Green in an NWA World Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's Three-Way MatchThese are three talented individuals, so I expected a pretty good match and they delivered. Granted, the outcome was fairly obvious that Melina was winning given all the interaction she's had with Kamille lately, but I appreciated that she had to earn her shot. It's worth noting that Rae announced just recently that she'll be stepping away from the squared circle again due to personal reasons, so this may be the last we see of her in the NWA for a while if not for good.
"Legit" Leyla Hirsch and Ryo Mizunami def. Diamante and Xtina KayHirsch and Mizunami teamed a handful of times on the Dark shows earlier this year and were starting to hit their stride before Mizunami went back to Japan. Now that she's returned to AEW, it looks like they're going to pick up where they left off. This was an enjoyable opener with Hirsch and Mizunami working well together and Diamante looking good in defeat. Even Kay held her own.
Tony Deppen def. Rhett TitusIt's easy to forget that Deppen held the ROH World Television Championship very briefly at one point this year. The guy can go and he's been growing on me despite starting out feeling generic. Speaking of generic, Titus is the embodiment of that, but he's been better with The Foundation. They had a well-wrestled opener. Titus was upset that Homicide aided Deppen to victory and The Foundation was nowhere to be found, so we'll see if that leads to any tension in the group.
