It was announced during the Raw after Extreme Rules that there would be a handful of beat-the-clock matches to determine who would face CM Punk at Over the Limit for the WWE title. Daniel Bryan defeated Jerry Lawler by submission in the final match of the night. He beat the clock, and now had a shot at the WWE title. They had an outstanding twenty-five minute match, but Punk prevailed in controversial fashion.

Kane started to go after Punk and his title after they had a few run-ins, and Daniel Bryan still wanted another shot. As all of this was going on, AJ began to show interest for all three men, which added some spice to the feud. A triple threat match for the title was won by Punk at No Way Out. On the June 25 edition of Raw, Bryan won a non-title triple threat elimination match between the three men to earn another shot.

AJ began to go back and forth between which superstar she supported. All of the stuff that went on between the three led to AJ being the referee for the match at Money in the Bank. To add some last minute surprises, they announced in the pre-show that the match would have no disqualifications. Daniel once again came up short, even with AJ as the ref. AJ had officially gone crazy at this point. Daniel proposed to her on the next episode of Raw, and she accepted.

The wedding was set for the 1,000th episode of Raw. Everything was going smoothly, until Mr. McMahon had to make an announcement. And then we received another shocker from AJ: She’s the new Raw General Manager! Daniel was left at the alter.

Bryan continued to beg for another WWE title match, but AJ refused that, and set up Kane vs. Daniel Bryan for SummerSlam. I think a lot of people were thinking Kane would go over, but Bryan ended up winning the match with a cheap roll-up. Daniel and Kane were still having their problems, so AJ put them in anger management.
