Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Heath and Rhino Saved Josh Alexander From Honor No More

Alexander spoke about setting his sights back on the Impact World Championship and how that's his top priority heading into Rebellion. That brought out Honor No More and Eddie Edwards in particular took exception to Alexander getting the opportunity to bring the Impact World Championship back to IMPACT back at Bound for Glory and not him. The brawl that followed between the IMPACT guys and Honor No More was pretty much what we saw at Sacrifice, but the mic work in this segment was strong. Scott D'Amore also announced the main event of Edwards vs. Rich Swann.

Willie Mack def. Kenny King

The opening segment segued nicely into this match. Both guys are very talented and have been around for a while, so this was unsurprisingly a quality contest. I've always said that Mack almost never wins whenever it matters most, and although there was nothing on the line here, it would have been easy for him to lose to a member of the hot new faction. Thus, I'm glad that wasn't the case. This was good stuff.

Ace Austin def. Crazzy Steve and John Skyler in a Three-Way Match to Qualify for the X-Division Championship Three-Way Match at Rebellion

Is it just me or does it feel like we've seen a ton of three-way matches involving the X-Division guys over the last year? Don't get me wrong, they've all been enjoyable and chaotic like this was, but I wish they'd focus a bit more on the storytelling and not just throw random guys into matches. On the bright side, this was fun and had actual stakes. That finishing sequence looked fantastic. I'm looking forward to Trey Miguel and Austin renewing their rivalry at Rebellion (albeit with someone else involved).

Mickie James, Chelsea Green and The IInspiration def. Impact Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans and Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Influence (Tenille Dashwood and Madison Rayne)

I don't know if this would be considered a "fun fact" or not, but James, Green and The IInspiration were all released from WWE on the same day last year (April 15). Obviously, all of them have landed on their feet and done well for themselves in IMPACT. This was a cool collection of talent and was mostly well wrestled. I wasn't too high on James pinning Steelz less than a week after Steelz won the Impact Knockouts World Championship, but I understand that was done to keep their feud going and build to an eventful rubber match.

The Motor City Machine Guns Interrupted Bullet Club

I don't know if we needed another lengthy talking segment seeing as how we already had one open the show, but I really liked this. Jay White, Chris Bey and The Good Brothers all took turns talking before White called out Shelley following their barn burner at Sacrifice. They had an excellent exchange on the mic that referenced a lot of their history before the set up for next week's tag team match pitting White and Bey against Motor City Machine Guns, which should be stellar. Regardless of whether it will be a one-off or not, I'm stoked for this Motor City Machine Guns reunion.

Eddie Edwards def. Rich Swann

I'm really surprised they'd give this match away as a random television main event without advertising it in advance. These two have a lot of history as friends and both have been the biggest flagbearers for IMPACT over the last four years. I know Edwards vs. Alexander is what they're ultimately building to at some point, but this deserved a longer build. That said, this was a top-notch main event. They were given a ton of time and the action was very entertaining. Needless to say, Edwards winning was the right call so he could maintain momentum.

Overall Show

IMPACT continues to put on must-see content every week and this was another above-average episode. There was fallout from Sacrifice and the road to Rebellion next month got off to a strong start. Multiple matches were great and we got progression for plenty of stuff as well. These shows just fly by. I'm digging a lot of what IMPACT is doing at the moment with their loaded roster and I'm hoping it will lead to Rebellion being an awesome event as well. The buildup should be a blast to follow.
