ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham def. Kenny King (Non-Title)It's been cool seeing Gresham make the rounds recently and I hope an AEW appearance is in his future as well. I'm really looking forward to him against Eddie Edwards at Rebellion and this was a nice warm-up for him before then. King is very talented in his own right, but he's been firmly established as the fall guy for Honor No More so far. This was an enjoyable opener and it was refreshing seeing Gresham competing in something other than a Pure Rules match for a change. The Good Brothers def. Johnny Swinger and Zicky DiceI was looking forward to seeing what Dice could do on his own once Brian Myers severed ties with him, but he's only been utilized as an enhancement guy so far. Oddly, this alliance with him and Swinger works, but I don't think his fortunes are going to change much considering they were beaten quickly and decisively by The Good Brothers here in what Swinger referred to as the "Chump Chump Challenge." This gave Good Brothers a necessary momentum boost before they face The Briscoes at Multiverse of Madness. Josh Alexander def. Madman FultonI'm always amazed by how weak Fulton is consistently made to look. I'm not saying he should be given a serious singles push or anything along those lines, but it feels like he loses more than he should. Then again, this was what it needed to be with Alexander challenging Moose for the Impact World Championship at Rebellion. Speaking of which, that rivalry has been well done so far and I appreciate how personal they've made it feel. Rosemary Won an Impact Knockouts World Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchIMPACT has a real deep division with the women at the moment, but this was basically every Battle Royal you've ever seen. I've certainly seen worse ones, but there was nothing out of the ordinary about this whatsoever. I will say, though, I do like the idea of Rosemary challenging Tasha Steelz for the Impact Knockouts World Championship at Rebellion. I don't expect her to win, but it's been a while since Rosemary was put in contention for the title, so it feels fresh and I'm sure it will be a solid match. Bhupinder Gujjar def. Aiden PrinceI believe I've seen Prince in action before because he looks familiar and his name rings a bell. I thought he looked fine here, but this was all about Gujjar, who continues to rack up wins. There are weeks where Gujjar looks impressive and others were his matches fall flat. This was more of the latter, but hopefully he can get there eventually. He'll have to start showing something soon because IMPACT has a talented roster and he'll easily get lost in the shuffle if he can't stand out in any way. Masha Slamovich def. Abby JaneAnother week, another opportunity to complain about how Slamovich really should be feuding with someone on the IMPACT roster by now. It sure seems like they're taking the Goldberg route with her by having her squash random women who aren't contracted by the company, and while she comes off like a killer, they got old a while ago and now it's time for the next step. This was the usual standard squash from Slamovich, but it was nothing new if you caught any of the other ones. Bullet Club (Chris Bey and Jay White) def. The Motor City Machine GunsThis was a rematch from two weeks ago and I'm so happy we got another round from these two teams. White in IMPACT has been a blast, Bey has benefited simply from tagging with him, and having Motor City Machine Guns (if only briefly) has been so damn cool. This was an excellent outing as expected and it was even better than their original encounter. I loved the fast pace and it was the perfect choice to close out the show. Bey winning for his team was a nice touch. Overall ShowI honestly can't recall IMPACT having any less than a quality show so far in 2022. These shows are consistently entertaining and always feature at least one or two matches worth seeking out. This week, it's that outstanding main event. The primary goal of this edition of IMPACT! Wrestling was to get people excited for Multiverse of Matches on Friday, and although it's bound to get overshadowed by everything else going on this weekend, some of those matches have piqued my interest on paper and I'm looking forward to checking it out.
