![]() By Greg Lowenthal Hey guys, welcome to the Lowdown for this week. In this edition, I am going to talk about Fast Lane, possible WrestleMania match ups and discuss a couple of story line change ups that are needed. The idea of having a PPV in February is essential to create tension and build up rivalries leading up to WrestleMania and to give the fans a taste of what can be expected when it arrives. But sometimes that can backfire, especially if the WWE Champion is one who doesn't appear as often as Brock Lesnar does. But because of the WWE Network, Fastlane which is the newest PPV, could have some serious potential. The potential lies not in the PPV itself but in the matches that have been announced for it. I think there needs to be WAY more WrestleMania match ups to generate more excitement among the fans and to promote up and coming Superstars who could really need the push. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper are two such Superstars who could use a huge push by actually facing each other at either Fastlane or WrestleMania. The end result of the match wouldn't matter so much as the fact that the two of them are wrestling each other. I feel like WWE is pushing new Superstars too fast into their mainstream shows. The example I provide here is The Ascension. While they are a great tag team, they are being provided poor quality tag teams that actually don't give them much in the way of what they really need, which is real competition. Right now this tag team is being used for squash matches (it's when a Superstar doesn't really have a match so much as a quick fight). So unless a good tag team goes up against them, I don't see them advancing very far up the ladder. That's it for this week... tune in next time when I mention my thoughts on Roman Reigns. Enjoy :)
