Hey guys... Welcome to the Lowdown for this week.
(On a personal note, it's my birthday today so I'm happy about that.)
So it would appear that Raw last week proved nothing short of spectacular as Dean Ambrose and John Cena found an unlikely common enemy.... so my focus this week will be on this sudden new development.
So it seems that Cena and Ambrose found an unlikely new commonality.... Seth Rollins. Not only did he put Ambrose out of action for a while (as a kayfabe move to allow him to film a new WWE movie) but he also cost Cena the WWE World Championship belt at Night of Champions. Could we be seeing a new tag team in the near future? My hope is yes. Here are my reasons why.
Cena brings a lot of energy and focus. He knows what he wants and has proven that in times of personal crisis, he's capable of going to lengths that no one usually sees in the Cenation leader. Plus, he's well rounded in his moves, able to use powerhouse and technical moves to defeat opponents.
Ambrose is unlike any Superstar the WWE has seen in a very long time. He's willing to sacrifice his body in order to pick up a victory and he's focused almost ALL of his efforts on Seth Rollins, something that hasn't been seen lately. He reminds me of all the Superstars during the Attitude Era, particularly the Hardy Boys, Edge and Christian and Team 3D, three great tag teams who helped bring a high-flying/hardcore hybrid style of wrestling into the picture.
So if Ambrose and Cena are teamed together, they can certainly bring a whole new element of power to WWE. And if Reigns comes back after his surgery, we could POTENTIALLY see a new incarnation of the Shield.
So that's the Lowdown for this week, enjoy guys! :)
