Aerostar def. Drago

We didn't know much about Aerostar before this bout and we still don't now, but it was easy to care about the match because Drago has already been established. This was still a nice matchup between the two and they kicked off the night on a fun note. Aerostar picking up the victory was a pleasant surprise and I'm glad they held back a bit seeing how they have a full best of five series ahead of them.

Cage def. Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma (Non-title)

I had completely forgotten Puma was off TV for as long as he was. It was a smart move to have him (along with Konnan) sell the beatdown from Cage from last month as it makes it mean more. Although the match was slightly sloppy, they picked up the pace down the stretch and delivered a highly entertaining match, an even better match than their initial encounter from a few weeks ago. I loved the way Puma kept kicking out of each of Cage's big power moves (all of which were impressive) only for Konnan to throw in the towel. I thought they would have had Konnan turn on Puma a while ago, but I actually like the direction they're taking with it instead.

Pentagon Jr. def. Vinny Massaro

Pentagon Jr. has competed in nothing but quick squash matches in recent weeks and this was more of the same. However, it's hard to complain when they're all a blast to watch. Pentagon Jr. went from being someone no one cared about to becoming a cult favorite with his various attacks. He acts like a heel, but the live crowd absolutely adores everything he does. I'm very curious to see who his "master" ends up being revealed as.

Johnny Mundo vs. King Cuerno Ended in a Double Count-out

This was yet another main event match that I very much enjoyed because it was built up the right way. These two have been building up their feud for weeks, so their ultimate confrontation had a big fight feel. They contested a very good match and they more than made the most of the time they were allotted. The double count-out finish was also an effective way of keeping the feud alive and the live crowd was hot for the post-match brawl they had.

Overall Show

After last week's letdown of an episode, the show was back to being high quality this week. All four matches were excellent, served a purpose and helped build toward coming weeks. Plus, the few backstage segments we got (which are always amazingly produced) were very intriguing and got me excited next week's episode. Needless to say, I give this show two thumbs up and it made the hour fly by, so definitely check it out when you get a chance.
