![]() By Graham "GSM" Matthews Mr. Cisco and Cortez Castro def. Mascarita Sagrada and Pimpinela Escarlata Sagrada and Escarlata are always entertaining, though I don't know how wise it was to pair them with the serious duo of Cisco and Cortez. However, they've been protrayed as henchmen so far, so it wasn't the worst thing they could have done. It was a fun match and the win was necessary for Cisco and Cortez since they haven't won many matches as of late. The post-match attack on Big Ryck was very intriguing. I didn't think they'd turn him babyface so early and it felt like it came out of nowhere, but I guess they'll need a new monster babyface with the arrival of Cage. Vampiro Interviewed Cage Cage's mic skills are far better than I initially expected them to be. He isn't a phenomenal promo or anything, but he had a great exchange with Vampiro that helped established his character and his motives. He comes across as very intimidating and as we saw last week, he's extremely impressive in the ring. All that said, he fits the role well as the new top heel in Lucha Underground and I look forward to his chase for the championship. Pentagon Jr. def. Super Fly
We don't know much about Pentagon Jr. aside from him being formerly aligned with Chavo Guerrero, and Super Fly is still relatively new to the scene. Thus, there wasn't much of a story behind the match, but it was mostly a glorified squash for Pentagon Jr. and a nice showcase for him. Him calling out Chavo afterward was strage, but I don't expect him to go babyface. I'm interesting in seeing who he's paired with, but hopefully he doesn't go after Chavo like everyone else is right now. Sexy Star def. El Mariarchi Loco Sexy Star has turned a lot of heads since her start in Lucha Underground, but I didn't think it was necessary for Matt Striker on commentary to compare her to the likes of Lita, Trish Stratus and Fabulous Moolah; she's just getting started, Matt. However, I do think she has a lot of potential and I really like how they've been positioning her as an equal to the male wrestlers. I don't know where she goes from here, but has her feud with Chavo officially reached its end? Maybe I missed something because I can't recall them ever going one-on-one to blow it off. King Cuerno def. Drago in a Last Luchador Standing Match The feud between Cuerno and Drago has been very well handled up to this point, thus making this match mean something. The action was excellent and they managed to tell a solid story rather than rely on high spots to capture the audience's attention. Even still, there were a lot of sweet highlights throughout and the table spot was very cool. I was thinking while watching this match who was the heel and who was the face, so it was good booking to have Cuerno go over by utilizing dirty tactics and being made out to look like a smart heel. This appears to be the end of the line for this feud, but this was an exceptional way of going out. Overall Show Unlike in previous weeks, most of the matches weren't anything of consequence with the exception of the main event. Big Ryck's apparent face turn and Cage's interview were noteworthy, but the subsequent matches didn't tie into anything storyline related. That said, the matches as always were enjoyable and the main event is well worth going out of your way to see. I would have rather seen the other matches get more time, but the show on the whole was still solid.
