Sexy Star def. Mariposa

The feud these two had early on in 2016 actually exceeded my expectations, but I had no interest in them rekindling their rivalry here. This was a decent match, but it was bound to pale in comparison to their "No Mas" match from last year. It did make sense for Star to target Mariposa after accusing her of putting the spider in her locker, which is still stupid. At any rate, this was fine, but the real talking point was Marty "The Moth" Martinez turning on Mariposa afterward. Should we expect them to feud going forward?

Drago, Pindar and Vibora def. The Rabbit Tribe

Did I miss something? The last time we saw Drago, he had been kidnapped by Kobra Moon, but wasn't under any sort of trance. Here, he was. Perhaps it's a case similar to Randy Orton and The Wyatt Family where Drago is simply playing mind games with Moon and her tribe? It didn't look that way afterward, though. Either way, this was a fun match and I'd like to see more of The Rabbit Tribe in the future. They have been absent from programming since their debut two months ago, but this was a good opportunity for them to showcase their skills.

Lucha Underground Champion Johnny Mundo def. The Mack (Winner Chooses Stipulation For Title Match)

Mack is an excellent athlete, but I have trouble buying him as a legitimate threat to the main event at the moment because he hasn't been featured in high profile matches at any point in his Lucha Underground tenure. He can have quality matches with anyone on the roster, however, and this was enjoyable while it lasted. I'm glad Mundo didn't eat a non-title loss, but there should have been another way for them to determine the stipulation for their title match. That said, the return of the All Night Long match should be great and it was logical for Mundo to choose that given his incredible agility and cardio compared to Mack. Meanwhile, Mil Muertes' post-mach attack on Vampiro (Prince Puma's buddy) was well done.

Overall Show

This was a pretty middle-of-the-road show. All three matches were well-wrestled, with the trios tag team match being the best of the bunch, but this episode lacked excitement in my opinion. There was some successful storyline progression throughout the hour, so it was a solid show on the whole. This season hasn't had the same direction the other two had, but the episodes are entertaining more often than not each week.
