Trios Champion Pindar def. Cage by Disqualification in a Cueto Cup Second Round MatchThe gauntlet has caused Cage to become an unstoppable monster, or at least more unstoppable than he was before. He was pretty directionless for the second half of last season and earlier on this season, so it's cool that he's a focal point of the program again and in this tournament. It isn't often we receive fluky finishes in Lucha Underground, so Cage getting himself intentionally disqualified here worked well because it also protected him in defeat. Not to mention he came across like a total badass when he roughed up the referee afterward. Dante Fox def. Son of Havoc in a Cueto Cup Second Round MatchYou had to know Son of Madness would get involved at some point in order to further his feud with Havoc, so I loved how that was gotten out the way before the bout even started with Madness ambushing Havoc during his entrance. That put Havoc at a distinct disadvantage in this matchup, and as the ultimate underdog of Lucha Underground, the crowd was solidly behind everything he did. Fox had an incredible outing as well, resulting in a super fun match on the whole. Prince Puma def. PJ Black in a Cueto Cup Second Round MatchPuma gradually getting darker and darker by the week is one of my favorite things in Lucha Underground right now. He's always been an amazing athlete, but his stale character needed the change and it made for a much more interesting match with Black, too. The in-ring action was exceptional as both guys had sensational showings and had the crowd on their feet the entire time. This was easily the best bout of the tournament thus far and I'm looking forward to seeing if the rest of the Cueto Cup can top it. Overall ShowThe quality of Lucha Underground is slowly but surely getting back to what it once was in the first half of Season 2 and I have hope that the Cueto Cup will continue to produce fantastic matches. Cage vs. Pindar was exactly it needed to be while Fox vs. Havoc and Puma vs. Black are well worth going out of your way to see. Next week, Black will receive a shot at redemption when he faces Rey Mysterio, so it will be nice to see a non-Cueto Cup match for the first time in a while.
