Joey Ryan def. Mr. Cisco and Cortez Castro in a Triple Threat Match For an Ancient Aztec Medallion

I guess this match was saved for last because it was the most insignificant of all the medallion matches, but it lasted a mere two minutes before abruptly ending. Ryan is entertaining and I'm glad he won, but I couldn't care less about the other Crew members, so it might have been for the better that the bout was short-lived. Matt Striker announced that the Gift of the Gods Championship match will be taking place next week. Was that mentioned at all in previous weeks? Because that felt like it came out of nowhere.

Trios Champions Rey Mysterio, Dragon Azteca Jr. and Prince Puma def. Son of Havoc, Ivelisse and Johnny Mundo

While this wasn't the barn-burner of a bout I was expecting from these two trios, I liked the babyface vs. babyface dynamic with Mundo being the sole heel. The action was enjoyable and seeds were planted for a feud involving Mundo, Taya, Havoc and Ivelisse. I don't believe an update was given on Angelico's status, and although he was legitimately injured recently, this was taped before that, so I assume it's something storyline-related.

Lucha Underground Champion Matanza Cueto def. Mil Muertes in a Graver Consequences Match

Last year's Grave Consequences match between Muertes and Fenix was significantly better, but this was still a very good match, especially considering who was involved. Muertes carried most of the match, but Matanza's limitations held it back from being something more. Regardless, they made great use of what they were given to work and it was the storytelling that made the match. Furthermore, I appreciated how Catrina was a major focus of the bout, and I'm interested to see how she will resurface now that she has been "killed," along with Muertes.

Overall Show

It was a newsworthy night filled with two title matches, a medallion match, a Graver Consequences match and a tease of a "higher power," but it wasn't as hot of an episode as it should have been, or at least in my opinion. It was an entertaining episode per usual, but it didn't meet my lofty expectations, though I suppose that was own undoing and I'm likely in the minority. Nevertheless, check the show out for everything it had to offer.
