Gift of the Gods Champion Dragon Azteca Jr. def. Ivelisse

Azteca has been a great fighting champion since winning the title a while back and this was another enjoyable outing from him. I feel like we haven't got nearly enough of Ivelisse this season, so it was a treat to see her compete in a competitive match and get so much offense in. The intergender wrestling never really bothers me whenever she's involved because she always comes across like an equal to her opponents. It looks like her, XO Lishus and Joey Ryan will be a new trio based off what happened afterward.

King Cuerno vs. Mil Muertes in a Lucha Underground Championship No. 1 Contender's Match Ended in a Double Disqualification

According to Antonio Cueto, Cuerno first had to earn his shot at the Lucha Underground Championship by beating Muertes, but in the end, both ended up being put in contention for the title as a result of the non-finish. Pentagon Dark didn't seem to be bothered by that and instead was excited by the challenge. The match itself was very good and as hard-hitting as you'd expect. That three-way should be terrific.

Trios Champions The Reptile Tribe def. Drago, Aerostar and Fenix

On last week's show, we witnessed Fenix resurrected, but he appears to be possessed by the spirit of the now-dead Catrina. He's basically Fenix Dark at this point, so you had to know his heel turn would factor into the finish somehow. At any rate, the in-ring action was entertaining and all six stars worked well together. Fenix turning on Drago and Aerostar should kick off a feud between them and I'm interested if he'll ever be brought back to the light.

Overall Show

With two title matches taking place and a No. 1 Contender's match being held, this was definitely a newsworthy night and it helped that the wrestling on the whole was above-average as well. Cuerno and Muertes had a hell of a fight, Fenix went rogue by turning on his longtime partners, and an alliance was born with Ivelisse, Ryan and XO Lishus. It was a fun hour of wrestling that progressed a few storylines and started some news ones.
