The Worldwide Underground and Marty "The Moth" Martinez def. Prince Puma, Cage, Sexy Star and Fenix in an Atomicos Match

Johnny Mundo substituting Ricky Mandell... er, Ricky Mundo with Martinez in this match because Ricky didn't run his new name change by him was a clever way of getting him out of there so Martinez could further his feud Fenix. In fact, all of Puma's partners made sense since Star is feuding with Taya and Cage (despite seemingly being a heel) had his gauntlet stolen while he was wrestling. The match itself was fun while it lasted, but it was somewhat overshadowed due to there not being one singular focus.

Pentagon Dark def. Dragon Azteca Jr. for an Ancient Aztec Medallion

These two have history from a while back when Pentagon broke Azteca's arm, so I liked that they finally finished up their mini feud and that there was an ancient Aztec medallion at stake as well. They worked a fast-paced and very entertaining match where the crowd was engaged in the action. The right man went over, but I can't help but wonder how Azteca will be a part of at Ultima Lucha 3 if he won't be contending for the Gift of the Gods Championship. Meanwhile, Matanza Cueto was able to get some last minute heat on himself by attacking Azteca afterward, who is obviously Mysterio's protege.

Matanza Cueto def. Rey Mysterio in a No Disqualification Match

Matanza has been off TV for so long that, other than last week's squash match, he needed to be reestablished as a force to be reckoned with, so it was imperative that he dominated a majority of the matchup here. The bout was laid out very well with Mysterio battling back toward the end and scoring several suspenseful nearfalls over the monster. No one is a better underdog than Mysterio, so the crowd was behind him throughout and they booed mercilessly when Matanza tore him apart with the chair and shut down any offense he built up. It should be noted that Dario Cueto once again cost Mysterio the victory when he shoved Mysterio's foot off the rope.

Overall Show

This was the historic 100th episode of Lucha Underground, and I'm glad they advertised it as such because it lived up to the heavy hype with three excellent matches and several stories progressing heading into Ultima Lucha 3 later this month. There really isn't one thing to recommend because I enjoyed everything on the episode equally, so it's worth checking out in its entirety ahead of Ultima Lucha 3, which I'm extremely excited for.
