Trios Champions The Reptile Tribe def. Sammy Guevara, Ivelisse & XO Lishua and The Reptile Tribe in a Three-Way Tag Team Elimination Match

These trios matches tend to be a recurring highlight in Lucha Underground and this was no different as all three teams put forth an excellent effort and contested a highly entertaining affair. The elimination stipulation was a nice touch and this was all action from bell to bell. The Reptile Tribe remain the champions, so we'll who steps up in Season 5 as the next challengers.

Taya def. Ricky Mundo

Taya wanted revenge after Ricky ordered Matanza Cueto to wreck her wedding. This never had much potential to be an instant classic, so I was happy they took a simpler approach instead with Taya largely dominating Ricky and picking up the decisive victory. Afterward, she took it one step further by putting Ricky through a table, seemingly putting the rivalry to rest.

Son of Havoc def. Killshot in a Mask vs. Mask Match

These two have had history since the start of the season, so it was awesome for the feud to come full circle at Ultima Lucha with them battling in a Mask vs. Mask match. Havoc and Killshot have tremendous chemistry together and this was an excellent match. The storytelling in particular was on point with both guys going to great lengths to put the other away and the intensity was also appreciated. The post-match angle with Killshot unmasking and Havoc showing respect to him was well done and it looks like Killshot's time in Lucha Underground has come to an end based off the sendoff he received.

Overall Show

Ultima Lucha Cuatro is off to a strong start. The festivities kicked off on a high note with the Trios title match which was exciting and an absolute blast, Taya vs. Ricky was exactly what it needed to be as a glorified squash, and the high-stakes main event was outstanding and is well worth a watch. It'll be sad for Lucha Underground to go back on hiatus after next week, but at least they'll be closing out the season with a bang.
