Los Parks (LA Park Jr. and MLW World Tag Team Champions LA Park and Hijo de LA Park) vs. 5150 (Danny Limelight, Slice Boogie and Homicide) Ended in a No ContestThis was essentially an extension of the brawl these two factions had a week ago on the show. This was a bit of a better brawl because at least they attempted to have a match, though I don't remember the bell ringing in the first place. They beat the crap out of each other the entire time and the crowd popped when Homicide came out. That dude has been making the rounds lately between MLW, AEW, NWA and Ring of Honor (where he held the ROH World Tag Team Championship for a brief bit). The match itself was whatever, but this did set the stage nicely for their clash at the War Chamber show (which I believe has since been taped, so it will likely air on an upcoming episode of Fusion: ALPHA). EJ Nduka, Richard Holliday, Savio Vega, The Blue Meanie, WARHORSE and Zenshi def. Ikuro Kwon, KC Navarro, King Mo, Gino Medina and Kevin Ku in a 12-Man Survival Tag Team MatchMaybe I missed something, but I have no idea what purpose this match was supposed to serve. Yes, Nduka was the sole survivor for his team and came out of it looking great ahead of War Chamber, but the match itself was an absolute mess up until the ending. Most of these people haven't been properly introduced to the viewers who just started tuning into MLW (such as myself), so the rapid-fire eliminations didn't help and there was nothing that stood out as special aside from Nduka's strong showing. I expect him to shine in the War Chamber matchup as well. Davey Richards def. Bobby Fish in an Opera Cup Semifinal MatchFish has since signed with AEW, so while that made the outcome pretty predictable, that didn't hinder my enjoyment of the match. Both guys are quite proficient in technical wrestling and put on a clinic here. They made the most of the time they had and all the counters and reversals were such a treat. Fish continues to look like a man reborn since leaving WWE and Richards has shown zero signs of ring rust. Overall ShowIn addition to the matches themselves, there was a lot of build for the War Chamber match next week in the form of backstage segments and promos. They left me looking forward to it, and after what we saw from Jacob Fatu and Cesar Duran on this episode (teasing tension within Contra Unit), I'm picking Alexander Hammerstone's team to win. The rest of this show wasn't for me, though. The opening brawl was fine but went on a little long, while the 12-man tag was all over the place. The War Chamber stuff and the main event were enough to earn this edition of Fusion: ALPHA a thumbs-up, though.
