Nicole Savoy def. HolideadThis was the third straight week that we got a women's match on the show. I'm enjoying the consistency and every match has featured a fresh face. I'm familiar with both of these women from a number of other promotions and they're both impressive, especially Savoy. This wasn't the smoothest encounter and probably the weakest of the three women's matches we've gotten so far, but it was serviceable. Hopefully Savoy's injury isn't too serious. Calvin Tankman def. Matt Cross in an Opera Cup Opening Round MatchTankman can do some incredible things for a dude of his size while Cross works well with just about everyone, but he especially thrives against the big guys (as seen in his recent match with Jacob Fatu for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship). This was an enjoyable affair as the two of them worked well together, though I'm sure they could have done even better with more time. Cross' post-match promo seemed to plant the seeds for a heel turn. King Muertes def. Richard Holliday to Win the IWA Caribbean Heavyweight ChampionshipI had no idea whether Holliday is supposed to be a heel or a babyface, or if he's a heel in the process of turning face. He has a heel gimmick and entrance, but then he's shown being attacked backstage by Contra and being aligned with Alexander Hammerstone, the top babyface in MLW. Either way, he's a promising talent and this told a solid story. Muertes takes the title and now Holliday has a reason to want to take out Contra at War Chamber. Overall ShowThis episode was all about building toward the War Chamber main event of Team Alexander against Contra Unit, culminating in the title change in the main event. I'm digging all of the emphasis on Duran as he's been as great in MLW so far as he was in Lucha Underground. He definitely hasn't lost it. The women's match was well wrestled and Tankman vs. Cross was fun, so this was a quality show on the whole yet nothing you need to go out of your way to see.
