Holidead def. Chik Tormenta

I'd say that it feels like the featherweight division is being built around Holidead, but then again, she's basically the featherweight division at this point. All of the women who were being featured when I started watching MLW last year have barely been featured since, so it seems to be just Holidead at this point and whoever they bring in to lose to her. She and Tormenta had a solid match. I don't know if it's been announced on the show yet, but I saw online that Holidead will face the returning Taya Valkyrie to determine the the first MLW Women's Featherweight Champion soon.

Octagon Jr. def. King Muertes, El Dragon and El Hijo de LA Park in a Cyclone Match to Win the Caribbean Championship

This is a common criticism I have of MLW, but would it kill the company to tell us a bit more about some of these random titles that are defended on the show from time to time? I'm obviously familiar with Muertes and Hijo de LA Park, but not so much Dragon and Octagon. Thus, it would have been nice to either hear from them beforehand or be shown a brief video package highlighting some of their work. I also had no idea what the hell a Cyclone match was, but it was basically every man for themselves, sometimes with tags and lucha rules. All in all, this was fun and frantic, even though I didn't really care who won.

Jacob Fatu def. Bestia 666 in an Apocalypto Match

Cezar Duran put Fatu in this match after Fatu made an enemy out of him backstage. I think that was the only story behind it if I'm not mistaken. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this hardcore brawl and I thought they utilized their extreme environment well, but I'm curious what's next for Fatu now that he's seemingly wrapped up his rivalry with Mads Krugger and fell short of regaining the MLW World Heavyweight Championship at Intimidation Games. This was complete chaos and Fatu's offense was impressive as always.

Overall Show

This felt like one of those shows that didn't have much to do with anything. I know they closed the episode with Duran's press conference where he was accidentally hit by Alexander Hammerstone, and there was also hype for next week's Bunkhouse Brawl between The Von Erichs and 5150, but the matches themselves were random and very few MLW regulars were featured. Is the roster just that thin right now? There was plenty of entertaining action on this episode, but it certainly wasn't too significant from a storyline standpoint.
