NWA World Women's Tag Team Champion Kenzie Paige def. Kaci LennoxPaige was without her partner here, but it ended up mattering since she won, anyway. I've seen Lennox in action previously in AEW and IMPACT and she's never really stood out from what I can remember, but she and Paige had a perfectly passable match here. It didn't serve a purpose, mind you, but it was a nice showcase for the women and it was wisely positioned as the opener since the later matches meant more. Taya Valkyrie def. KiLynn King in an NWA World Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchI thought King vs. Kamille II for the title was already confirmed for NWA 74, but apparently not. Honestly, I'm more excited for Valkyrie getting the shot against Kamille instead of King, but it is a bit random considering King vs. Kamille II is clearly what they were building toward and Valkyrie hasn't won many matches prior to this point. That said, Valkyrie vs. Kamille is fresh and I'd be all for Valkyrie being the one to ultimately dethrone Kamille as champ. This was a quality contest as well. NWA World Tag Team Champions The Commonwealth Connection def. The Dirty Sexy BoysWe haven't seen Dirty Dango and JTG in some time, so them getting a title shot came out of nowhere. I would have held off on doing this match so EmPowerrr was an all-female show, but at least it was a well-wrestled match with good work from both teams. Commonwealth Connection just became champions last month, so it would have been premature for them to drop the straps here. Who do they defend against at NWA 74? NWA World Women's Champion Kamille def. Chelsea GreenThis was a rematch from NWA 73. I wasn't a big fan of their match that night, and oddly enough, this was an improvement despite the heel vs. heel dynamic. Then again, is Kamille babyface at this point? It's tough to tell sometimes because she comes across like a heel in her promos but is booked like a babyface in her matches. Nonetheless, this exceeded my expectations and there was some drama over whether Green would actually win the title (even though Kamille vs. Valkyrie was the obvious direction to go in after Valkyrie became number one contender earlier in the episode). Overall ShowIt's been a while since we got our last EmPowerrr edition of Powerrr and I'm glad it mostly featured women's matches this time. This ended up being one of the best shows NWA has had in months. It was straightforward, the matches were above average, and the NWA World Women's Championship match was made official for NWA 74. I'm looking forward to Kamille vs. Valkyrie, but not the new main event of Trevor Murdoch vs. Tyrus for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship that was announced last week. Ugh.
