Thom Latimer def. Carson Drake to Qualify for the NWA National Championship Four-Way MatchDrake had two matches on Powerrr prior to this and lost both times, so I have no idea why he was put in a qualifier for a title match he doesn't belong in. Nothing against the guy personally, but the outcome was never in doubt here. He and Latimer had a perfectly passable match, but Latimer should've beat him quicker than he did. It wasn't too long ago that Latimer was holding gold, so I hope he doesn't capture the Television title as he doesn't need it. The Kidz def. The Slime BallzSlime Ballz challenged for the NWA United States Tag Team Championship not too long ago and that seemed to be the extent of their push considering they lost to some random team named The Kidz here. Hey, I'm not complaining. They're not awful in the ring, but their characters come off as annoying and I don't think that's the point. This match was decent but felt like filler as neither team is established. Vampiro Offered His Services to Natalia MarkovaA series of vignettes with Vampiro aired for a few weeks in a row and there was no confirmation who he was talking about in them, but we may have found our answer here in the form of Markova. Yes, it's a weird connection, but color me intrigued. Markova has nothing of note going on at the moment since she's unsuccessfully challenged for all of the women's titles the NWA has to offer, but this could at least give her something to do. Joe Alonzo def. Mo JabariI'm glad Alonzo got a chance to cut a promo backstage beforehand to talk about this match and the direction he's headed in. He's been impressive in the last six months and I hope he can rack up more wins before eventually capturing gold. Jabari isn't a regular in the NWA and thus there was no reason to think he would win here, but it was a well-wrestled matchup with the correct outcome. Eric Smalls and Knox and Murdoch def. The Spectaculars (Rush Freeman, Rolando Freeman and Slade)This stuff with The Spectaculars, Smalls and Knox and Murdoch hasn't done much for me, but at least it's given Knox and Murdoch a consistent story and that's what the NWA shows need more of. The Spectaculars were fine foils for them and Smalls held his own. Here's hoping the babyfaces going over means the feud is finished and we can move on from it, but I wouldn't be shocked to see it continue. Overall ShowPowerrr had the same runtime as always this week and yet they managed to fit in a bit more than usual. However, none of the shorter segments or matches added to my enjoyment of the episode in any way. That's not to say this show was bad, but there really wasn't anything worth checking out, either. The NWA has done a better job of building toward upcoming matches as of late, but this edition of Powerrr wasn't the most exciting effort.
