Trevor Murdoch (Team Tyrus) vs. Jax Dane (Team Rebelion) in a Champions Series Second Round Match Ended in a Time-Limit DrawIt's worth noting that La Rosa Negra got into it with Dane at ringside at one point, so despite apparently getting hurt on NWA USA over the weekend, Negra was back this week acting perfectly okay. Nonetheless, the match itself was actually pretty decent as Murdoch and Dane are two of the bigger names in the NWA (by current standards, of course). This felt like a back-and-forth battle. Once again, the time-limit draw was lame. There have been way too many non-finishes in this Champions Series. Bully Ray, Thom Latimer and Judais (Team Great) def. Chris Adonis, Dak Draper and Mims (Team Rock N' Roll) in a Champions Series Second Round MatchThese were two interesting trios with a number of notable names involved, so that automatically made me care more. I thought everyone worked well together and produced a perfectly acceptable six-man tag team match. Honestly, it was better than I thought it would be. The biggest highlight was Latimer and Judais assisting Bully with the 3D for the finish. That was excellently executed. KiLynn King (Team Rebelion) def. Allysin Kay (Team Tyrus) in a Champions Series Second Round MatchKing and Kay are two of the better women's wrestlers NWA has on its roster, so unsurprisingly, this was an enjoyable affair with some quality wrestling. One of the only stories I'm actually following in the Champions Series is that King is searching for another opportunity at the NWA World Women's Championship and can get it if she wins this thing, so I liked that she had to beat a former champ to get one step closer to that goal. Alex Taylor (Team Rock N' Roll) def. PJ Hawx (Team Great) in a Champions Series Second Round MatchOf the four matches on this show, this felt like the least qualified to be the main event. Taylor doesn't interest me at all and Hawx is better in the tag team ranks. That isn't to say this was bad, but it wasn't as important as the other matches. To their credit, they had a solid match, and Taylor already beating Luke Hawx earlier in the Champions Series and now his son was a nice touch. We'll see if Taylor gets any sort of a singles push coming out the Champions Series, but I doubt it. Overall ShowNow that we've officially entered the second round of the Champions Series, a few teams were eliminated and some of the members of those teams have since joined the remaining teams. Yes, it's confusing as hell, and I'm not attempting to keep track of it all. That said, this was the best stuff I've seen from the Champions Series yet. The wrestling was noticeably better than it has been in weeks, so hopefully that means they'll be able to keep it up as we progress through the remainder of the Champions Series.
