The Teams Were Decided in the NWA Champions SeriesThere are going to be four teams in this NWA Champions Series with each team consisting of co-captains: Nick Aldis and Melina, Aron Stevens and Taryn Terrell, Austin Idol and Kamille, and Da Pope and Velvet Sky. Each team selected their combatants (I won't list them all here), alternates were assigned to each team, and we found out who from each team will be facing who. They tried to spice it up with some of the promos, but I found the process to be a bit boring. I'm also not super high on the idea as it's slightly confusing on paper and may be a lot for fans to follow. Couldn't they have just done a number one contender's match to determine who will be next in line to challenge for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship? All of the ongoing storylines are pretty much being put on pause for the time being and I'm skeptical that it will be what's best for Powerrr in the coming weeks. Overall ShowThis wasn't your average edition of Powerrr as the entire episode was designed to set the stage for the NWA Champions Series. The rules were explained and we got to hear from everyone at various points, but I'd strongly recommend looking up the teams and upcoming matches online as opposed to sitting through this whole show. Personally, I'm not a fan of going through this convoluted process to establish new contenders (what happened to just creating compelling storylines?), but maybe the matches will be entertaining. I'm willing to give it a chance and I appreciate their attempt to do something different, but the simpler approach that Powerrr had when it started was what drew me in, not this type of stuff.
