Nick Aldis def. Brian Myers

I love the crossover with The Major Players appearing in both IMPACT and the NWA. This was obviously a one-off for Myers and the match was meant to serve as a warm-up for Aldis before he was supposed to face Matt Cardona in a rematch for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at Alwayz Ready. Of course, that contest has since been changed due to Cardona not being cleared to compete after suffering a torn bicep. At any rate, this was a quality contest and as well-wrestled as you'd expect given the athletes involved.

NWA Television Champion Tyrus def. KC Roxx in a Slam Challenge by Disqualification

Tyrus mentioned in a promo at the start of the show (which I didn't bother to recap because all he did was bother a small child at ringside) that he had chosen someone big to face him in this slam challenge. As it turned out, Roxx was nowhere near Tyrus' size, so he quickly called it quits and got himself intentionally disqualified. Post-match, Mims attempted to make the save before Cyon attacked him. In doing so, he turned heel and aligned with his father (?) Austin Idol. Mims probably should have gotten the upper hand this week to make it look like he has a chance of beating Tyrus for the Television title at Alwayz Ready.

KiLynn King and Missa Kate def. NWA World Women's Champion Kamille and Kenzie Paige

This was a preview of what to expect when King challenges Kamille for the NWA World Women's Championship on Saturday night. I personally couldn't care less about King, but she's racked up wins recently and has been positioned as a legitimate threat to Kamille, which is key. This was a well-worked main event that successfully spotlighted King and her pinning Paige for the victory was the correct outcome.

Overall Show

This was the culmination of the PowerrrTrip 2 taping from April. The fact it took this long to air is a bit ridiculous considering Alwayz Ready is this weekend, but at least each of these three matches helped hype up stuff relating to the pay-per-view. The card hasn't come together very well because the build has lacked a lot, especially with Cardona getting hurt, but maybe it will end up exceeding expectations. In the future, the NWA should do a better job of airing this sort of stuff soon after it happens and not almost two months later.
