Colby Corino def. Marshe Rockett
Corino has been heavily featured on NWA programming the past few months and he's really grown on me as a heel. He's come a long way from when he was getting beat up on in Ring of Honor or doing jobs on WWE 205 Live. This was a fun little sprint while it lasted. Rockett is a good hand in the ring as well. By the way, weren't Colby and JTG supposed to have a quarterfinal match in the NWA World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Tournament this week or am I misremembering?
Skye Blue def. ThunderKitty and Tootie Lyn in a Three-Way Match
Blue has been a regular on NWA programming for months, and if they were smart, they'd lock her down to a deal because she has massive potential. Maybe they already have and that's why AEW hasn't announced signing her yet? Nonetheless, she was the highlight of this match for me, though the whole outing was enjoyable. ThunderKitty does nothing for me personally, but Lyn is talented and they put together a perfectly solid three-way match here.
Mims def. BLK Jeez
We've seen Jeez in the ring a few times recently, but he's largely been positioned as an enhancement guy up to this point. While the outcome was never in doubt, it was a well wrestled main event. Mims hasn't been focused on too much so far in the NWA, but I hope that changes going forward because he definitely has the tools necessary to be something. He continues to impress and his charisma really helps him stand out.
With this being a PowerrrSurge show, it was slightly shorter than usual and was more talking heavy. The past few PowerrrSurge episodes have been fairly dull due to the sit-down interview format being overdone, but I thought the interviews with Jax Dane (who discussed his feud with Crimson), Kamille (who addressed attacking Melina last week and issued a challenge to her), and Trevor Murdoch (who talked about everyone who could step up to challenge him for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship) were well done. Maybe May Valentine was the program because she's abysmal in that environment. We were treated to three quality matches to boot, making this a thumbs-up show in my opinion.
