Will Ferrara def. Adam Page

Ferrara has been positioned as an enhancement talent for as long as I've been watching Ring of Honor on the regular (since early June), so I figured Page would pick up the victory here. That said, I was surprised Ferrara scored the upset win, but I liked the swerve. I don't know how much it does for Page, but at least it was done in a way where it teased tension within the ranks of The Decade, specifically with Colby Corino. Is it possible for them to do an angle at Final Battle even though Nigel McGuinness told them they wouldn't be wrestling on the show?

ROH World Champion Jay Lethal Called Out AJ Styles

I've been hyped for Lethal vs. Styles since Styles became the No. 1 Contender back in September. I believe this is the first time I've ever heard Styles talk on ROH TV and it was an effective use of his star power which has largely been wasted in recent months. He and Lethal had a strong back-and-forth on the mic and it made me even more excited for their pending title clash. On a side note, I appreciated the early focus on Lethal losing his ROH World Television Championship last week instead of completely disregarding it.

Dalton Castle def. Adam Cole by Disqualification

The use of Castle (or lack thereof) continues to boggle my mind. He's been cold as ice since he lost The Boys, but merely because they haven't followed up on the storyline properly and he's rarely on ROH TV. They addressed it during this match with Silas Young taking The Boys away from ringside, but that's about all they've done with the feud in months. Him and Cole had a fine match, but it was too short to mean anything before the disqualification, but obviously it was done to set up the subsequent six-man tag team match.

The Kingdom def. Dalton Castle and War Machine

We seem to get quite a few multi-man matches on ROH TV, but hey, at least they're entertaining as hell. This one was no exception as all six competitors seemed to gel perfectly and held the audience's interest the entire time. The chaos down the stretch was extremely exciting and it was smart to have the heel faction go over given that they have been to look fairly weak since getting back on the same page at All Star Extravaganza.

Overall Show

The hype for Final Battle has been really well done as of late and this edition of ROH TV did a great job of building up the card. Not only was the in-ring action excellent as usual (Castle vs. Cole aside), but there were a number of promos and packages that aired throughout the show promoting most of the featured feuds at the moment. By the way, there wasn't anything different about the show despite its move to Comet TV. Yes, this was taped weeks ago, but I don't suspect there will be anything different at the next set of tapings. I'll still catch the new shows when they're uploaded on the website, regardless.
