ROH Women's World Champion Rok-C def. Holidead

Personally, I've never been blown away by any Holidead match I've seen, but she's competent enough and I thought she had a solid showing here. It was definitely better than the match she had against Willow Nightingale on a recent episode of MLW Fusion: ALPHA, which was riddled with interference. Rok-C had to fight from underneath and in the end she was barely able to pull out the victory and retain the title. This was a nice match to end this era of Ring of Honor's women's division ahead of the hiatus. I'm really looking forward to Rok-C popping up in IMPACT and MLW in the new year.

Team Brian Johnson (Brian Johnson, Rhett Titus, Kenny King. Rey Horus, Homicide and Flip Gordon) vs. Team Josh Woods (ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods, Silas Young, Matt Taven, Bandido and The Briscoes) in a Christmas Surprise 12-Man Tag Team Match

Titus is the ROH World Television Champion as of this writing, but because this was taped before he won the title at Final Battle, he didn't come out with the championship. Same with The Briscoes. Interestingly, Bandido was the ROH World Champion at that point (and technically still is), but he didn't have the championship with him. Nonetheless, this was as entertaining as it is every year. These wild card matches with the random combinations of competitors are always a blast and it was cool seeing Woods and Young reunite as well as King and Titus. Once they picked up the pace down the stretch, this turned into a fun and frantic main event. Everyone adhering to the Code of Honor afterward was a fitting way to cap off the episode and this era of ROH TV.

Overall Show

I'm happy that ROH was able to get in their annual Christmas episode before going on hiatus. The ROH Women's World Championship being defended was notable and the Christmas Surprise main event was enjoyable as usual. This was the final fresh edition of ROH TV as I believe every episode going forward will be clip shows until ROH starts running shows again in April presumably. Thus, that will be it for my ROH TV reviews, hopefully just for now and not for good. I look forward to ROH's next chapter.
