Joe Keys and Dante Caballero def. Eric Martin and Ken Dixon in an ROH Dojo Challenge Match
I think I've seen a few of these guys in action on ROH TV before, but I'm not overly familiar with them, though their pre-match sit-down interviews were helpful in getting to know a little bit about them. The match itself was fine. It was well-wrestled enough and the effort was there, but it was hard to care about a match with no real significance with guys who aren't established. It would be one thing if one or two guys stood out, but they honestly all blended together for me. That isn't to say they don't have potential, it's just that they won't gain a ton from working with each other on these televised shows. That said, this was probably the best episode of ROH TV to do something like this with given how star-studded the main event was.
Team Jay (Jay Briscoe, PCO, Flip Gordan, Brawler Milonas and John Walters) def. Team Mark (Mark Briscoe, Beer City Bruiser, Dak Draper, Tracy Williams and Dalton Castle) in a Christmas Surprise 10-Man Tag Team Match
I love these Christmas Surprise matches, so I was happy they brought it back for this show. It's basically a Wild Card match with the team captains (in this case Jay and Mark Brisoce) picking partners at random by unwrapping gifts in the back. It's always makes for some fun combinations, including tag team partners being pit against each other like with The Bouncers here. This started out slow, but once the pace picked up, it was all action and was entertaining for the time it was allotted.
There was nothing storyline significant on this show, which I figured would be the case with it being a holiday episode headlined by the Christmas Surprise match. That was enjoyable for what it was, and the opening tag team match was solid. ROH TV has been killing it since returning in September, so I have no problem with this being a filler show to close out the year. I'm just curious when when we'll start getting the fallout from Final Battle, which happened back on December 18th.
