Ring of Honor Review - March 21, 2018

Coast to Coast def. The Dawgs

Coast to Coast have been on a bit of a roll since beating War Machine not too long ago, so this was an effective way to allow them to continue their recent momentum. The Dawgs dominating a majority of the match made Coast to Coast out to look like resilient underdogs before they ultimately scored the victory. This was a nice little bout to kick off the night and showcase some of the tandems in ROH's stacked tag team division.

Mayu Iwatani def. HKZ in an ROH Women of Honor Championship Tournament First Round Match

ROH took a page out of IMPACT's playbook by airing a match that took place elsewhere, and in this case, it was Stardom in Japan. This ROH Women of Honor Championship tournament features plenty of talent from the promotion and this was so different (and much better) than anything I've seen from the tourney so far from the ROH girls. Both of these women put forth a hell of an effort and I hope Iwatani has a similar showing when she goes up against Deonna Purrazzo in the next round.

Bullet Club def. The Kingdom and So Cal Uncensored

This match was all about teasing tension between the factions involved. There has been dissension within the ranks of Bullet Club for months now, while The Kingdom and So Cal Uncensored had a tough time staying on the same page throughout this bout (which ultimately cost them the win). The Kingdom and So Cal Uncensored were somewhat overshadowed by Bullet Club, but it was extremely entertaining main event, nonetheless. I believe Bury the Bear's appearance here was taped before the events of the 16th Anniversary Show, so I'm not sure if the mascot will still be a part of the group going forward.

Overall Show

Everyone's sights are set on Supercard of Honor over WrestleMania weekend at this point and ROH is well aware that Bullet Club will be carrying that show between the Cody vs. Kenny Omega main event and Dalton Castle vs. Marty Scurll for the ROH World Championship. This episode was fully focused on Bullet Club and the ten-man tag team match, which is worth checking out. The two other enjoyable outings made this a solid show on the whole.
