Flip Gordon Interrupted ROH World Champion Matt Taven

I seem to be more open to Taven being ROH World Champion than most people, which is perfectly fine. I understand the criticisms people have of him as a performer, but he's getting great heat these days and has been built up nicely. He cut an excellent promo about his road to becoming champion and how he is undisputed title holder. Gordon emerged to tell him that he is still owed a shot at the strap from winning the Sea of Honor Tournament back in October, and now that's cleared to compete from injury, he'll likely be getting that opportunity sooner rather than later. Obviously, I doubt Gordon will win, but he's probably the perfect first challenger for Taven considering how skilled he is in the ring.

Silas Young def. Jonathan Gresham

Gresham and Young faced off a weeks ago and Young won via nefarious means. Gresham wanted "clean wrestling" in this rematch, and of course, that didn't happen with Young once again coming out on top after cheating to beat Gresham. It's an easy story to follow and it helps that they have chemistry together. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to a likely third match between them.

The Briscoes def. Soberano Jr. and Caristico

Briscoes lost their ROH World Tag Team Championship at the 17th Anniversary Show and failed to regain them at G1 Supercard, but I assume they'll have a chance to get the belts back from The Guerrillas of Destiny eventually given their hated exchanges on social media as of late. Nevertheless, this was a very well-wrestled main event with some fun moments. Caristico doesn't seem to be botching as much as he did during his WWE run, so good for him. Seriously, though, I do like Ring of Honor's working relationship with CMLL because it makes for quality matches such as this.

Overall Show

There were plenty of video packages recapping stuff that happened at G1 Supercard because of how it's been so long since we last had up-to-date content on ROH TV. It's nice to finally have fallout from the pay-per-view, even if it's a few weeks later. This episodes' two featured matches were given plenty of time and were both very entertaining. Throw in the opening segment setting up a championship clash between Taven vs. Gordon and you have yourself a rock solid show on the whole.
