By Graham "GSM" Matthews Colt Cabana and Dalton Castle def. The Tempura Boyz I had not heard of The Tempura Boyz prior to this point, but given that this was their ROH debut, they had an impressive outing against a team that has grown on me fairly quickly. Their entertaining antics immediately made me a fan of them when I saw them live at All Star Extravaganza last month and they are the perfect pairing. It's also an excellent use of both men considering they weren't doing anything of note before they joined forces. Kevin Kelly Interviewed The Briscoes I'm as big of a Briscoes fan as the next guy, but I'm curious to know what earned them a future shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championship at Final Battle. Did they win some sort of No. 1 Contender's match at a live event or something? Because they're coming off a loss in the Six-Man Tag Team Championship Tournament at All Star Extravaganza and they were the last team I expected to get a title shot at the pending pay-per-view. Nevertheless, this was a good promo from them and I liked how they mentioned their past wins over Cabana and Castle as well as The Young Bucks. Kyle O'Reilly def. Jonathon Gresham
We don't see Greshman much on ROH TV, but when we do, he can always be counted on for a quality contest. Thus, it was no surprise that he and O'Reilly produced a very well-wrestled match and while the ending outcome was never in doubt, it was a fun showcase and a good win for O'Reilly. The attacks by Adam Cole and Hangman Page afterward on reDRAGON were well done and furthered both feuds effectively. BJ Whitmer and Punishment Martinez def. Cheeseburger and Will Ferrara It's a shame Martinez's talent is being buried beneath all this trash involving Whitmer, Kevin Sullivan and Steve Corino. I couldn't care less about Whitmer, but Martinez had a solid showing here. Then again, the match was essentially an afterthought with Sullivan and Corino bickering the entire time on commentary. This feud interests me less and less by the week. Just put it out of its misery already. Los Ingobernables def. The Motor City Machine Guns I knew this match wasn't going to get a ton of time considering it started when there was less than ten minutes of the show remaining, but they made the most of what they were allotted and contested an entertaining affair. Their respective styles meshed perfectly and the final stretch was a blast. I assumed The Motor City Machine Guns would pick up the win, but I liked the heels winning even more because the babyfaces established during their pre-match promo that they were still hurt from Ladder War 6 at All Star Extravaganza. Smart booking. Overall Show We are over a month away from Final Battle but I appreciate ROH taking the time to build up the card now instead of waiting until the last minute as they tend to do from time to time. If everything falls into place just right, it could be a stacked show, and that's not even including how Cody Rhodes will be a part of it as well (which has yet to be acknowledged on ROH TV). Additionally, a slew of cool matches are on tap for next week's episode, so tune in then for what should be another enjoyable hour of wrestling.
