By RJ Marceau

What’s up guys, RJ Marceau back for a revised version of my Top 5 Current NXT Superstars. My first list came out in May, which has seen some of those stars get called up to main roster and are no longer on the NXT roster. This list like the NXT Specials will be quarterly. Some people on my first list still may be in NXT but new stars have caught my attention.

5. Chad Gable

Starting in the beginning of the summer, Chad Gable had started convincing Jason Jordan that he should be his new tag team partner. After two months of Jordan losing with random partners, he agreed to let Chad Gable be his tag team partner. Gable and Jordan defeated Neville and Solomon Crowe recently in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Due to their amateur wrestling background they have been compared to “The Worlds Greatest Tag Team” Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. In my opinion Gable is more charismatic and better wrestler than Haas but Jordan lacks the single star ability and athleticism that Benjamin had. I want Gable and Jordan to win the Dusty Rhodes Classic, which would be a huge rub and could set them up for a tag team titles run.

4. Bull Dempsey

When Bull Dempsey debuted as the “last of the dying breed” brawling wrestler I thought he had a lot of potential. This potential was short lived when Baron Corbin beat him in three consecutive matches. Then they debuted his new gimmick being fat. William Regal told Bull that he must be in shape or he will be cut from NXT. Dempsey debuted his new “Bull-Fit” gimmick by working out and 2015 version of Simon Dean. When they had Tyler Breeze and Bull team up in the Dusty Rhodes Classic I thought it was gold. Have “Prince Pretty” who has lost direction and team him with Bull Dempsey who is trying to be fit. Breeze turned on Bull post match but it sets up a feud for both men.

3. Alexa Bliss

Wow, Alexa Bliss is beautiful. I’ve been a big fan of Bliss’ since she debuted in NXT but she had lacked character development when she was the “cheerleader” blissful character. Since teaming with Blake and Murphy, she’s been doing the best work of her career so far. She has defeated Carmella and Blue Pants in the past few months but hasn’t seen a real push in the NXT divas division. As a heel, she is fresh and could go after Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship.

2. Emma

Since her debut in NXT, I have been a big fan of the “Bubbly One” Emma. She had an amazing match with Paige at the first NXT TakeOver and was called up to the main roster. Unfortunately for Emma she has been paired up with superstars or divas that she is clearly better than and should be on her own. She was paired with Santino Marella during her main roster run and was treated as a comedy act. Now down in NXT she is a heel but paired with Dana Brooke. She has been having the best run of her career so far but should be on the main roster since she is an amazing wrestler.

1. Baron Corbin

When Baron Corbin was squashing random jobbers I was getting old of Corbin but not because of his character just his booking. He finally had his first feud with Bull Dempsey and beat him 3 times. He then feuded with Rhyno who he defeated at NXT Unstoppable. He then faced Samoa Joe at NXT Brooklyn and lost but showed an impressive performance. He has been teaming with Rhyno in the Dusty Rhodes Classic defeating the Ascension in the first round and defeated Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in the 2nd round. Rhyno and Corbin have potential to win the classic but the money in Corbin is as a singles star.
