RJ’s Two Cents - 5 Best/Worst Booked WWE Superstars & Divas Since WrestleMania 31: Edition #23/19/2016 By RJ Marceau Over the past year, the landscape of the WWE has taken twists and turns with superstars & divas being featured in prominent roles and now on the outside looking in. This is the 2nd edition of this series I decided to not include injured wrestlers because even if they had great 2015 we don’t know how they would be booked going into WrestleMania 32. It may however include Superstars or Divas that debuted after WrestleMania 31. 4. Worst: Paige 2015 was a dud for the Anti-Diva who had five Diva title matches and lost all five. Paige was coming off a hot 2014, which she debuted on the main roster and won the Divas title twice. Paige teamed with AJ Lee at WrestleMania 31 and defeated The Bella Twins. After WrestleMania 31, Paige was attacked by Naomi and upon her return from the injury she lost in three title matches to Nikki Bella at Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank and Beast in the East. Yes, Paige was part of the “Diva’s Revolution” but she had the spotlight taken away from her by Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Paige turned heel after Night of Champions and had that terrible Reid Flair promo. Charlotte retained her title vs. Paige at Survivor Series and TLC. Paige was taken off TV for the rest of 2015 and has teamed with Natalya in 2016. Paige is rumored to be involved in a throwaway match at WrestleMania 32 with Natalya & Brie Bella vs. Naomi, Tamina & Lana. 2016 may turn around for Paige but with the rise of Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and eventually Bayley she may be out of the title picture for some time. 4. Best: Dean Ambrose
Did Dean Ambrose have an amazing 2015 by wins and losses? No. When I was looking up and down the WWE roster it was tough to find Superstars who weren’t injured that had good years besides my top three. Dean Ambrose lost at WrestleMania 31 but picked up at Extreme Rules by defeating Luke Harper in an entertaining Chicago Street Fight. Dean would then pursue the WWE Championship and lost at Payback, won via DQ at Elimination Chamber and lost at Money in the Bank. Dean returned to WWE TV by assisting his Shield brother at SummerSlam to defeat Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Dean Ambrose lost at Night of Champions and wasn’t even on the card for Hell in a Cell. At Survivor Series, he made it to the finals for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but lost to Roman Reigns. 2015 ended on a good note for Dean Ambrose by defeating Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship. Ambrose only held the title for over a month but he will be facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 in a No Holds Barred match. I don’t know if Dean will win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2016 but he is ready to be a main event guy.
