RJ’s Two Cents - 5 Best/Worst Booked WWE Superstars & Divas Since WrestleMania 31: Edition #5

Over the past year, the landscape of the WWE has taken twists and turns with Superstars and Divas being featured in prominent roles and now on the outside looking in. This is the 5th and final edition of this series.

I decided to not include injured wrestlers because even if they had a great 2015 we don’t know how they would be booked going into WrestleMania 32.

1. Worst: Bray Wyatt

If you told me last year after Bray Wyatt lost to The Undertaker that he wouldn’t be booked on the card for WrestleMania 32 I would have laughed in your face. Bray Wyatt was built to be the new “Face of Fear” but after losing to The Undertaker he did nothing. He would go into a meaningless feud with Ryback and beat him at Payback. It was puzzling how he defeated Ryback but wasn’t included in the Elimination Chamber match for the IC title that Ryback won.

Wyatt would then turn his attention to Roman Reigns by screwing him at Money in The Bank. After this he went on a summer long program with Reigns and only won when a Wyatt Family member interfered. The feud ended at Hell in a Cell with Reigns beating Wyatt. Up next for Bray Wyatt was the burial he and Luke Harper received at Survivor Series by Undertaker and Kane.

It seemed like he would have a good shot at winning the Royal Rumble or feud vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 but WWE scrapped that for Dean Ambrose. Wyatt is speculated to get involved in the Lesnar vs. Ambrose match but I think that could ruin the matchup. 2015 was awful to the “Eater of Worlds” so hopefully 2016 will be a turn around.

1. Best: The New Day

What a turnaround for The New Day in 2015. The group was awful as babyfaces and were given the freedom to go heel. They won the titles at Extreme Rules from Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. They would drop the belts at Elimination Chamber to the Prime Time Players. The New Day would recapture the belts at SummerSlam and received an amazing pop. I was in attendance and the Barclays Center exploded when The New Day won.

Since then they have defeated The Usos, Dudley Boyz, League of Nations and Lucha Dragons. They have run through the whole WWE tag team division and I don’t think a team currently on the main roster will take the titles from them.

They will face The League of Nations at WrestleMania 32 in a 4 on 3 Handicap match but the titles aren’t on the line. This will let The League of Nations get a win over them without taking the titles. I don’t think they should lose the titles to The League of Nations but it seems like the WWE wants to invest in them. It will be hard for The New Day to replicate the year they had but I think they could still be on the top of tag team division in 2016.

Believe That!
