RJ's Two Cents - Kevin Owens vs. Brock Lesnar Must Happen at WWE WrestleMania 32

After talking on WrestleRant Radio Tuesday night with Graham and Arden Franklin, we realized how this year's WrestleMania could flop due to the lack of marquee matches and the talent that is available to the WWE. Big stars like the Rock, Goldberg, Stone Cold and Batista seem to have other plans and will not be able to compete at the show of shows. The WWE has also been plagued with the injury bug with top talent such as Randy Orton, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins being out and not available for WrestleMania 32.

If there is any money match that I want to see at the show it has to be Kevin Owens vs. Brock Lesnar. The rumored matches like HHH vs. Reigns and Cena vs. Undertaker are good matches but I think Cena vs. Undertaker may need a stipulation to be a bigger match. A retirement match would be good for Undertaker to go out in his home state with a great match with John Cena. Owens vs. Lesnar can be booked with the title or without the title and I will describe both scenarios as to how they should build the feud.

The match with the title on the line I would have Lesnar defeat Sheamus at the Royal Rumble for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Later in the night, Kevin Owens eliminates John Cena and Roman Reigns to win the 2016 Royal Rumble. Owens says he is going after the Beast Incarnate to better his family and since he is a prizefighter he must win the WWE title. Paul Heyman cuts multiple promos on Owens and how he isn’t even on the same playing field as Brock Lesnar and doesn’t have a snowball's chance to beat Lesnar.

Owens comes out and says he will be the one to finally pin Brock Lesnar and pop up power bombs Paul Heyman. On the go home show to Raw, they have the contract signing with Lesnar and Owens. Both guys say their two cents and Lesnar mentions how he gave Kevin Owens' family a visit earlier that day.

They show video on the big screen of Brock and Heyman at the Owens residence with Brock destroying stuff throughout his house. As Brock and Heyman are leaving Owens' wife and children arrive to see the devastation that Brock has left. It’s a PG show so they can’t really do the HHH home invasion angle here so showing Owens' family devastated by the destruction can fuel the prize fighting, family man to kick Brock's ass at WrestleMania 32. At WrestleMania 32, Owens and Brock have an all out brawl. Owens' family is in the front row seeing their dad visit Suplex City. Owens gets suplexed multiple times but comes back and hits Lesnar with 2 pop up powerbombs but can’t put the beast away. Owens pulls out the packaged piledriver and beats Lesnar 1.2.3.

Owens is the first guy to pin Brock Lesnar since the streak was broken and gets a huge rub. Owens could celebrate in the ring with his family and look like the next breakout babyface. The next night he comes out and says he did this strictly for his family and doesn’t care what the fans think. He could still be a heel and feud with Seth Rollins once he returns and Roman Reigns.

The non-title match would be similar but the build for the match would be different. Owens and Lesnar are both in the Royal Rumble and it comes down to them and a few other competitors. Owens pulls a surprise and eliminates Lesnar. Similar to Shawn Michaels eliminating Kurt Angle, Lesnar flips out and comes back into the match and eliminates Owens and beats the hell out of him. This would set up a feud, since Lesnar cost Owens shot at winning the Rumble.

I would do the similar build with Heyman saying Owens has zero shot to beat Lesnar and have Lesnar destroy Owens' house, which would build up even more motivation for Owens. If WWE does a home invasion like scene it would be good as well but both would leave Owens as the sentimental character. In the match, I would have Owens go over Lesnar. Owens would be the first person to pin Lesnar since the streak was broken. Owens would come out as a huge babyface or heel and would be set to a WWE World Heavyweight Championship title match in the future.

This feud would be great for both guys and would be something new for Lesnar. He has faced all established stars besides Roman and the 5-minute match against Rollins last year at Battleground. Lesnar is willing to do the job and an up and coming superstar should get that rub. Owens would be perfect to beat the beast incarnate and I hope this match happens at WrestleMania 32.
