RJ’s Two Cents - No Cena, No Problem: How WWE Books WrestleMania 32

Less then 24 hours of writing an article about AJ Styles facing John Cena at WrestleMania 32, John Cena has tweeted that he will get shoulder surgery and presumably miss WrestleMania 32. This would be the 1st WrestleMania that Cena has missed since he has been in the WWE and will be a huge hit to the “biggest WrestleMania of all time”. The wrestling community is now in worries of how John Cena’s injury will affect WrestleMania but even with Cesaro, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and now John Cena, the WWE can still produce an amazing show.

John Cena was rumored to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 but they can definitely find a suitable replacement for “Big Match John”. The Rock has recently reported he will be at WrestleMania 32 but hasn’t revealed to what capacity. A match, a segment, the ring announcer or parking lot attendant are possible solutions to utilize The Rock but how about having him face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. I don’t want to see Brock vs. Taker IV or Taker vs. Wyatt or Strowman. They could have Rock vs. Taker in a retirement match. Ideally you would want Cena vs. Taker but The Rock can replace Cena and put on a great match.

The WWE can fill out the rest of the card with one on one action with Jericho vs. Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship, Kalisto vs. Alberto Del Rio for the United States Championship, HHH vs. Reigns and Brock vs. Kevin Owens. With the reports of AJ Styles signing with the WWE can also bring another star into the fold by having him face Finn Balor using the Bullet Club narrative.

The WWE has acknowledged New Japan Pro Wrestling and both Balor and Styles were leaders of the famous Bullet Club faction. A one on one bout, would be great but utilizing more stars would help this card. Honestly for how foolish it sounds they have Styles, Nakamura, Gallows and Anderson under a faction such as the Fortune II or Styles Club vs. the “Balor Club” (Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn and Apollo Crews). If Itami is healthy by WrestleMania they could replace him with Joe. For how dumb or desperate this idea sounds it will bring in that New Japan Pro Wrestling Audience and Indy fans to see how they play out the Bullet Club story.
Will the WWE play the story out correctly? Your guess is better then mine but using these worldwide names/stars will bring in a bigger audience then throwing random matches with mid-low tier talent.

My WrestleMania 32 Card Predictions
  • Brock Lesnar © vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
  • The Rock vs. The Undertaker – Retirement Match
  • Triple H vs. Roman Reigns
  • Dean Ambrose © vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship
  • Alberto Del Rio © vs. Kalisto for the United States Championship
  • Styles Club or Fortune II (Styles faction w/ Styles, Gallows, Anderson, Nakamura) vs. Balor Club (Balor, Zayn, Crews and Joe or Itami)
  • New Day © vs. The Dudley Boys vs. Harper & Rowan vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship
  • Charlotte © vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE Divas Championship
  • Pre Show: Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

This card is pretty stacked in my opinion and with big names in most matches can help attract the 100,000 fans and hopefully more subscriptions/pay-per-view buys. Let me know what you think by tweeting me @RJ_Marceau on Twitter.

WWE Divas Championship match could be Charlotte vs Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch in Triple Threat match or added one more diva like Paige to make it Fatal 4 Way as just 2 women is too few for big event like Wrestlemania

That's what makes it special I feel like. Far too often does WWE do meaningless tag team matches and Battle Royals with the women just to get them on the show, whereas the best women's matches at the event have been one-on-one (i.e. Trish vs. Mickie at WM22).
