RJ’s Two Cents - NXT TakeOver: London Predictions

In one week, NXT will host their 9th TakeOver special and 1st special not in the United States. NXT is going across the pond to London, England is set up to be one of if not the best TakeOver special. The card only has 5 matches announced as of now but these matches should be great and doesn’t have a job/filler match that other cards have offered.

Sami Zayn could return against a Tye Dillinger but it would be great to see Sami return to NXT. Here are my predictions for NXT TakeOver: London.

Picture
Asuka vs. Emma (with Dana Brooke)

Asuka has been great so far in NXT and has beaten Dana Brooke twice. Emma has been having the best run in her WWE career with a new resurgence down in NXT and this match should be great. I have Emma defeating Asuka with interference from Dana Brooke. Asuka is good but needs to work on the mic while Emma is the full package. An interference loss would have Asuka lose the undefeated streak but still look good in defeat since Dana helped Emma. These two could continue their feud till the next NXT TakeOver special and fight for the #1 contendership for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Dash and Dawson (The Mechanics) vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady for the NXT Tag Team Championship

When Dash and Dawson won the tag team titles from The VaudeVillians I wasn’t surprised because The VaudeVillians are boring to me. But, I figured that Dash and Dawson would be short-term champions with Gable & Jordan or Enzo & Cass taking the titles off Dash and Dawson. Enzo and Cass should have won in Brooklyn, which would have gotten a huge pop, but winning in London could be even bigger. In this match I see Dash and Dawson targeting Big Cass’s knee again but I have new Tag Team Champions in Enzo and Cass. Enzo and Cass could have great matches with Jordan & Gable so hopefully they win at NXT London and face Jordan & Gable at the next NXT TakeOver special.

Enzo Amore and Collin Cassady defeat Dash and Dawson to win the NXT Tag Team Championships

Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin

This feud has been good with two NXT up and comers going at it. Having this match be a #1 contenders match would be more intriguing but with the two “brawls” these men have it should be a good match. Apollo made his name on the indies and has all the talent in the world. Corbin started in NXT as an ex NFL player and has been improving over the past few months since his match with Samoa Joe. This match should see a heavy back and forth battle and when the smoke settles I see Apollo Crews winning. He can go on to face Joe or Balor for the NXT Championship on NXT or the next NXT TakeOver special.

Bayley vs. Nia Jax for the NXT Women’s Championship

Bayley has defended the title 3 times in the past two months. At NXT: Respect, she defeated Sasha Banks in an Iron Man match. On NXT TV, she defeated Eva Marie and Alexa Bliss as well. Bayley has been the strongest booked champion and has defended the title the most. When it comes to Nia Jax I get she is big and bad but is she a face or heel? I get she attacked Bayley but she smiles and plays the crowd so I’m confused. She hasn’t done anything to earn a title match but with Asuka and Emma tied up in a feud she’s the only other NXT diva who would be up for a title shot. The only way I want or see Bayley losing is if she gets called up soon. Nia Jax still needs to improve and for that I am picking Bayley.

Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship

When these two men were paired in the Dusty Rhodes classic speculation was that they would win and eventually feud or Joe turns on Balor and would lead to them feuding. They went on to win he tournament and Joe turned on Balor a few weeks later. This feud has been great with the multiple brawls and the intriguing contract signing. These two men are two of the top talents in NXT so we should be in for a great match. With the lack of depth on the main roster I could see the WWE calling up Finn Balor soon so for that reason I have Samoa Joe winning the NXT Championship.

I have two new champions leaving NXT: London and the crowd should be red hot for this show. The only outcome I don’t want to see happen is Nia Jax winning the NXT Women’s Championship but knowing the WWE she’s the Rock's distant cousin so they should put the belt on her. Besides that I have no issue with any other outcome but I am assuming this will be an amazing show. Enjoy the show and don’t forget it starts at 3 PM eastern time due to the show airing live in London, England.
