RJ’s Two Cents - NXT Talent That Should Be Called Up to the WWE Main Roster in 2016

NXT has been evolving since the rebranding of the product and have seen many wrestlers like The Shield, The Wyatt Family and Paige start off in the developmental territory and make a name for themselves on the main roster. They also have had Superstars flop on the main roster like Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, The Ascension and Neville but this is mostly due to bad booking or should have stayed in NXT longer.

Kevin Owens, Tyler Breeze, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch have been the most recent call-ups and Breeze has been the only one to flounder. His feud with Ziggler has been terrible but the 50/50 booking isn’t helping Prince Pretty’s momentum at all. NXT has housed some talent for many years that should get the call up in 2016 and should make an immediate impact.

Bayley

Who else but the lovable hugger herself Bayley. When Bayley made her debut on NXT she wasn’t doing it for me. I don’t know if it was her character or what but I just didn’t care for her. Once she was in chase mode with Sasha Banks going into NXT: Brooklyn I felt all her momentum and their match was amazing. Bayley is your underdog but she is easy to love.

She is great in the ring and the passion she showed for the business in the 24: NXT special made me like Bayley. She has been great as NXT Women’s Champion but she should be called up to the main roster in 2016 to feud with any member of the Four Horsewomen.

Finn Balor

After Kevin Owens got called up, he handed the keys to NXT to Finn Balor. Balor has been great as champion and is ready to get called up right now. Balor has the “Star” factor that Graham talks about and I can’t disagree. He has potential to be a future WWE World Heavyweight Champion unlike a Bo Dallas and Neville so he should main event or be featured in marquee matches at WrestleMania in years to come.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

These guys are a great tag team but it’s their characters more then there wrestling. They have been down in NXT since the rebranding and still haven’t won the NXT Tag Team Championships. This could change at NXT: London but Big Cass and Enzo could bring new energy in the WWE Tag Team Division. There are only 3 legit tag teams with the Usos, New Day and Lucha Dragons.

The Ascension has flopped and eventually I want Kalisto to break out on his own so that would get rid of one of the main tag teams. Enzo and Cass could flop on the main roster but I think 2016 would be the right year to call them up and see what they have. Yes, Carmella would be called up as well since she is part of the act and has improved in the ring.

Some notable mentions: Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, and Emma

Besides Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe I don’t see anyone else getting called up in 2016 from the NXT brand. Apollo Crews should have a title run, Alexa Bliss needs some more time and Gable & Jordan need a title run as well.

Emma went down to NXT to rejuvenate her career and has done the best work of her career. She is much better then Tamina, Rosa Mendes, Naomi, Alicia Fox so she should be on the main roster. I am skeptical if she will get another chance but the Aussie deserves one since WWE butchered her first run.
