We are a few days removed from WrestleMania 32 and the women’s division is starting to see new rivalries and contenders rise up. On Sunday at WrestleMania 32, we saw the best women’s match in WrestleMania history. Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Charlotte had an amazing match to crown the new Women’s champion. After a back and forth match that was always displaying action Charlotte made Becky Lynch to tap out and win the WWE Women’s Championship. This was a shock because fans expected Sasha Banks to win. The WWE Women’s division hasn’t really changed but it seems like they have two new rivalries or contenders.
Charlotte seems like she will feud vs. Natalya for the WWE Women’s Championship. I would expect a rematch for Sasha Banks since she hasn’t been beaten but the WWE may be holding off for a big moment to do the title change. I am not a huge fan of Natalya vs. Charlotte since this will be their 3rd or 4th match for a title and Charlotte has won all of them.
After last night’s episode of SmackDown, it seems like we will get a feud between Becky Lynch and Emma. They have some history together outside of WWE, which they said in the backstage segment. This should be a great feud that will keep Becky busy since she isn’t in the title picture. Winning the feud over Emma could get the “Irish Lasskicker” back in the title picture.
Paige and Sasha Banks seem to have no plans in the near future and why not have them feud for the #1 contendership. The WWE can have three Women’s feuds going at once and make them interesting. Since Brie Bella has retired and Nikki Bella is hurt it will be interesting to see what they will do with the rest of the women. Naomi has untapped potential but it will be interesting to see her get opportunities over Sasha, Paige or Becky.
The WWE Women’s division is the best it has been in quite some time. If the WWE continues to book the division strong it should continue to be a focal point each week on SmackDown and Raw.
