What’s up guys, I am back for a revised version of my Top 5 favorite NXT superstars. My first list came out in May and my second list came out in October. You can go back in the Lists/Rankings category on the website to look at my past installments.

Here are my current top 5 favorite WWE NXT superstars.

Picture
Honorable Mention: Manny Andrade

I saw him at NXT: Lowell and he was very impressive. Andrade was formerly known as La Sombra from Mexico. He faced Austin Aeries at NXT: Lowell and didn’t seem out of place. He won the crowd over with his unique arsenal and got a well-deserved standing ovation after the match. He hasn’t made his debut on NXT TV but it should be soon that he is introduced to the NXT Universe.

5. Samoa Joe

When I started watching TNA back in 2007 I really enjoyed Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. I would have never thought either man would make it to the WWE but when Joe debuted in the summer of 2015 I was excited. Joe has come a long way since coming to NXT and as a monster heel he has been great.

His matches with Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Dallas & NXT TakeOver: London were both great but Joe couldn’t beat The Demon. I was lucky enough to be in attendance last Thursday at NXT: Lowell where Samoa Joe upset Finn Balor to win the NXT Championship. It was one of the most shocking moments I have seen live and besides The Streak being broken it was the next shocking moment that I have been in attendance for. Samoa Joe as champion will be interesting and he has deserved the chance to be called NXT Champion.

4. Alexa Bliss

One of the members of my list from October returns with the beautiful and amazing Alexa Bliss. Bliss has become the top heel in the NXT Women’s division and should be in the title picture in the near future. Bliss hasn’t been featured predominately on NXT besides facing enhancement talent. Emma has got called up to the main roster and Alexa should replace her. Bliss needs to distance herself from Blake & Murphy and hopefully put in a legit feud. Alexa vs. Asuka would be good but she should feud with Carmella first then go for the title.

3. Carmella

Another women's wrestler makes the list with the “Princess of Staten Island” Carmella. She stays true to her moniker of “the hottest chick in the ring” while improving immensely since coming to NXT. She was teaming with Bayley but besides that she has been held off NXT TV. Once Bayley gets called up she should take over as the top babyface of the women’s division. I also think staying in NXT while Enzo & Cass got called up was good for her because she should be looked at as a wrestler over being a valet for them. I would love to see her face Alexa Bliss and put into the NXT Women’s Championship picture.

2. Shinsuke Nakamura

When I heard Shinsuke Nakamura was coming to NXT, I watched his Wrestle Kingdom 9 match with AJ Styles and it was phenomenal, no pun intended. Nakamura made his debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas in the match of the year so far in 2016 vs. Sami Zayn. I saw Nakamura at NXT: Lowell and his entrance gave me goosebumps.

The guy sweats charisma and is very entertaining in ring. Nakamura should face Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship soon but they may do Balor vs. Joe in a rematch before Joe defends the title vs. a new challenger. The future is bright for Nakamura and will eventually make it to the main roster.

1. American Alpha (Chad Gable & Jason Jordan)

Chad Gable made the list in October and since the group has formed they have been my favorite superstars in NXT. The group has everything with Charisma, In-Ring Skills, Chemistry and mic skills. As a kid I loved tag team wrestling and in the past few years it has lost its art in my mind. Gable & Jordan have brought back the dynamic of the “hot tag” and making tag team wrestling fun again.

The group could honestly be WWE Tag Team Champions right now but they can own their skills in NXT as champions for a while. Once they beat The Revival again it will be interesting to see who they face next. A WWE call-up may be sooner rather then later but as of right now they are my favorite superstars/team in NXT.
