The NXT Women’s division is stacked, plain and simple. These women have been able to develop in tandems and teams. The women’s wrestler that needs to break out of these tandems and teams the most is the “Blissful One” Alexa Bliss. On May 13th, Blake & Murphy helped Alexa Bliss defeat Carmella. The next week she helped Blake & Murphy retain their titles against Enzo & Cass. Since then she has been paired with the former NXT Tag Team Champions.
Bliss hasn’t done much as a singles wrestler and lost to Bayley for her NXT Women’s Championship. Bliss won last night vs. some enhancement talent and is the #1 heel in the Women’s division. Bliss is being held back by the tandem and must break away. She was great as a babyface and is even better as a heel.
Bliss hasn’t had a feud since defeating Carmella in the summer and has zero direction. She has come a long way since debuting in 2014. Her only title match was vs. Bayley in a transitional feud. Alexa Bliss wasn’t a big time player in NXT until Becky, Charlotte and Sasha got called up to the main roster. I am assuming Asuka will beat Bayley at NXT Takeover: Dallas and she will face Nia Jax. Alexa could feud with Carmella or even go face since besides Carmella, Bayley and Asuka are the only faces in NXT and they have an abundance of heels.
Bliss has improved in the ring and her finisher (The Sparkle Splash) is probably the best Women/Diva finisher in the company. She has the looks and in ring ability to be a NXT Women’s Champion as well as WWE Divas champion. It will be interesting to see how long they wait to break her away from Blake & Murphy which is a must.
