RJ’s Two Cents - Why American Alpha Could Go Straight to the Main Roster

Since NXT was revamped they have developed new tag teams but none of them have been the total package like American Alpha. The Ascension was boring, Lucha Dragons lacked on the mic, Enzo & Cass aren’t great in the ring and Blake & Murphy have zero charisma. When Jason Jordan was teaming with Tye Dillinger I thought they were good but they needed someone to replace Dillinger. The vignettes of Chad Gable trying to become Jason Jordan’s tag team partner were hilarious. Jordan lacked charisma so pairing him with Gable who sweats charisma was the perfect pairing. Jason Jordan has the look and in ring skills to be a breakout singles star but right now in his career needs to be paired with Chad Gable.

Gable & Jordan are set up to face Dash and Dawson at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. Since Gable & Jordan have turned babyface they are the hottest thing in the WWE. Not just NXT, I will say the whole WWE. These guys are so over with the audience it can give an avid fan goosebumps. I believe since they have become babyfaces they haven't even lost a match. They have been booked perfectly and should go on to win the titles from Dash and Dawson. If the WWE wanted to beef up the main roster tag team division they should promote American Alpha in a very stagnant division that lacks new blood.

When you look at the landscape of the WWE Tag Team division we only have The Dudley Boyz, The New Day and The Usos. Besides them the Social Outcomes aren’t really in the tag team division and the Matadores/Ascension haven’t been relevant in a year. Rumors have it that Enzo & Cass will be the next NXT talent getting called up but I think a case could be made for American Alpha getting called up right now. I know Enzo and Cass are over with the NXT crowd but they aren’t the best in the ring. American Alpha has it all, they are the total package.

I am currently watching the Big Show/Stone Cold Podcast and laughed when Big Show said in the WWE they don’t have a babyface hot tag like they used to. Has he not been watching NXT? Jason Jordan’s hot tag is amazing. The dropkicks, the barrage of suplexes and the spear into the corner leading into Grand Amplitude is the best tag team finisher in years.

If you aren’t sold on tag team wresting in the WWE, go and watch American Alpha on NXT since they have become babyfaces and you won't be disappointed. The chemistry is unbelievable and their matches are always entertaining. The WWE could pump out huge merch numbers for these guys especially if they push them to the main roster.

Wonder are they a bit small for the main roster? Would they realistically beat teams like the Dudley Boyz, the USO's and the Wyatt family?
