RJ’s Two Cents - Why Becky Lynch Needs to Be in the Divas Championship Picture

Since becoming the heel sidekick to Sasha Banks in NXT I can easily say that Becky Lynch has become my favorite WWE diva in a longtime. When it comes to divas it has been Trish and Lita to the rise of multiple models turned wrestlers who haven’t been great in ring workers. I liked Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly and Maryse but these women weren’t great in ring workers just eye candy.

​When it comes to Becky Lynch I feel like she has it all, the look, the in ring skills, her back-story and good on the mic. When she was facing Sasha Banks at NXT: Unstoppable I was totally invested in this contest and was hoping for Becky Lynch to win. The two vignettes about her career and her journey made me get behind her and wanted her to win. Lynch and Banks had an amazing match with Sasha getting the victory but Becky looking great in a stellar performance.

When Becky debuted on the main roster I was stoked. Her entrance theme can get any crowd out of their seats and brings a fiery vibe to the crowd. The PCB, Team Bella and Team BAD feud was good at first but eventually dragged on too long. The payoff for Sasha and Becky wasn’t there as well. They made Nikki Bella tap out on various occasions but never got a title match. Becky has been limited to Charlotte valeting mostly for Raw and Smackdown but has wrestled on Main Event on a few shows.

​With how great she is as a talent it's mind boggling that she hasn’t been involved in any title picture until last week. She faced Charlotte on Raw and was cheated out of a victory and Charlotte interfered on Smackdown leading to Becky losing via DQ. This week on Raw, there was no mention on Becky besides her backstage segment on WWE Fallout.

The teased tension should lead to a title match and hopefully the match at TLC is switched into a Triple Threat between Paige, Becky and Charlotte. Have the story based around Paige and Charlotte with Becky having a snowball's chance to win. Becky pulls the upset and you can fully turn Charlotte heel. A short or long run with the Divas Championship would be fine but the WWE needs to invest more into the Lass Kicker.
