RJ’s Two Cents - Why Brock Lesnar’s Booking Hurts the Rest of the WWE Roster

Since WrestleMania XXX, Brock Lesnar has been booked as “The Beast.” Brock hasn’t been pinned since WrestleMania 29. Yes, he has “lost” two Triple Threat matches but he wasn’t pinned either time. In his almost three years of not being pinned he has beat HHH, CM Punk, John Cena, The Big Show, The Undertaker and Seth Rollins. Since being booked as “The Beast” Lesnar has destroyed his opponents and is unbeatable. I am a huge fan of Lesnar’s and I am surprised they have been able to keep him as an exclusive, spectacle competitor for almost two years. The issue with this though is his booking makes every other person on the roster seem like a regular guy.

If you look up and down the roster there isn’t one single person one on one that you could say, "Yes, he is the one that could beat Brock Lesnar." He has destroyed John Cena and Roman Reigns on numerous occasions and besides the two “Big Dogs” everyone else is seen as lesser to them. The overbooking of him as a Beast has made no man on the roster worthy of facing him at WrestleMania 32 other then the champion HHH. That is only due to the fact that since losing the title at WrestleMania 31, he hasn’t got a proper one on one rematch for the title and still has a claim that he wasn’t pinned or given a legit rematch.

It was confirmed on Monday's Raw that Brock Lesnar will be facing Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32. Ambrose is one of WWE’s top stars but is a credible opponent for the Beast I would have to say no. The only chance Ambrose would have a shot vs. Brock is if it was a Street Fight or a No DQ match. From what we saw Sunday night at Fastlane, Ambrose's chances to beat Brock would be minuscule due to the fact Brock destroyed him. Ambrose however has that mentality of getting back up even after the biggest beatings.

Ambrose was pinned after one spear so it would be illogical to have him be the one to knock of Brock at WrestleMania. WrestleMania isn’t the stage to have Ambrose win via a fluke type win either. The Lunatic Fringe in a Street Fight to me would be the only way beating Brock would make sense or logical. Falls Count Anywhere with him using a forklift similar to Mankind and The Rock at Halftime Heat would also be a sneaky way to beat the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Lesnar can lose and I wouldn’t have a problem with it but he shouldn’t be pinned unless something helps the lesser opponent or is beaten by a man like a Roman Reigns who could match his size and speed. Brock is definitely special and an attraction so the WWE needs to continue to protect him to keep him special. The booking of him is great and I am not saying they should stop booking him strong but when he is on a higher level then the rest of the roster it's goofy he isn’t the champion.
