Last night I attended the WWE Live event in Providence and had an amazing time. I know everybody wants to go to the Raws, Smackdowns and the PPVs but if you want to see great wrestling and no backstage segments then the WWE Live shows are perfect. These shows are a different environment with more kids attending but I still had a great night and here were the results.

Neville def. The Miz

This bout was good for the opening of the show and The Miz played his role perfectly. He plays the crowd perfect and had me laughing when he takes his sunglasses off. They had about a 10-15 minute match with Neville pinning The Miz after The Red Arrow. They had good chemistry and had good tempo throughout the bout.

The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) def. The Ascension

The match was decent for who was involved but the crowd was more interested in New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski sitting in the front row. Gronk is friends with Mojo Rawley so he was there to cheer for the Hype Bros. I don’t know if the Hype Bros will be taken seriously on the main roster but they are a decent tag team in NXT. The match was decent but the crowd didn’t give two craps about The Ascension. The Hype Bros won in about a 10-minute match and was entertaining to see them interact with Gronk after.

Ryback def. Rusev

I saw this matchup two weeks ago at TLC and it didn’t change my thoughts on these two in the ring. Rusev and Ryback don’t have good chemistry and this match showed it. The crowd chanted for Lana and Feed Me More throughout the match. Ryback won after the Shell Shock in about a 10-minute match. It wasn’t the worst match of the night but it wasn’t good.

Kane def. Bray Wyatt

When it comes to the WWE Live shows it’s a babyface show and with Kane winning the outcome proved this. Wyatt lacked offense and lost to Kane after a chokeslam. The match wasn’t long and may have been rushed due to the intermission being after this match. Kane won and actually got a decent pop from the Providence crowd.

Big Show def. Mark Henry

This match was as bad as their last 50 encounters and the crowd sat on their hands. Big Show and Mark Henry should hang up the boots in 2016 so hopefully this will be the last match I see with these two wrestling against each other.

Charlotte def. Becky Lynch and Paige for the Divas Championship

When I saw that Becky Lynch was going to be at this event I had to buy her “LassKicker” t-shirt which I did buy. This is the 3rd time I’ve seen Becky live and is better and better every time. This was definitely the match of the night with instant action throughout the matchup. Charlotte pinned Paige after a great finishing sequence with Charlotte hitting Natural Selection on Becky and pinning Paige after being in the Disarmer.

John Cena def. Alberto Del Rio via DQ

This was the main event and may have been the first time the crowd didn’t chant Cena Sucks!! If they did I couldn’t hear it over all the children screaming. These guys had a great match for the main event with Cena looking like he may win the United States Championship. Del Rio got disqualified and eventually Rusev came out to attack Cena. Cena got the upper hand on the two and ended the show on top.

Overall Show

On the whole, the show was good with some filler matches. The environment is definitely different but it still was a good night for some wrestling. For $15 where else can you see top WWE stars and 7 matches? These shows are always entertaining so I recommend you attend a WWE Live event if they come to your area.
