Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 29 Would Seem Inevitable

If you were smart, you would say The Rock and John Cena would once again be headlining this year’s WrestleMania.

Both a  John Cena win, and the crowning of  a new WWE Champion in The Rock  on Sunday’s  Royal Rumble  pay-per-view would seem to make a sequel between last year’s main-event of  the grand-daddy of them all inevitable.

While there is still the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view before we head to WrestleMania in April, a Rock loss to Punk  in their recently announced rematch at the Elimination Chamber  pay-per-view in two weeks would make  the Rock look weak, and would kind of ruin the purpose of the idea of the title not changing hands so frequently meaningless.

Overall,  it would seem all signs point to “The Great One” retaining  the WWE Championship, as he is getting his first run at the WWE Championship in nearly 11 years. But that shouldn't fairly kick CM Punk out-of-place for a second rematch after the Elimination Chamber, would it? If there is one thing we have come to learn about WWE, it’s to not expect them to throw us any swerves. Yes, this includes a Triple Threat with Punk/Rock/Cena for the title.

Last year’s highly anticipated main event match at Mania was a money-maker, it helped make WrestleMania 28 the most brought WWE pay-per-view of  all time, and seating  over 7000+ in attendance doesn't hurt, either.      

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that Vince McMahon likes to make money; he’s a business man, and this is what he’s done best for quite some time. It should come as no secret to any pro wrestling fan that McMahon has undoubtedly been pushing for a Rock/Cena rematch to take place at this April’s Mania. Oh, and you didn't think WWE was going to let last year’s finish slide? Well, for the time being, they did, but they know they owe a certain someone a rematch. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out. It’s been about John Cena, even for 434 days, and for the next couple months with the Rock holding the belt.  The longer John Cena goes without gold around his waist, the more likely it’s bound to happen. It would seem inevitable.
