TNA X-Division Champion Chris Sabin def. Jason Hotch (Non-Title)Sabin beat John Skyler two weeks ago and this was an easy win for him as well. That's not to say it was total dominance from Sabin, though. Hotch scored some offense and looked impressive, even if the outcome was never in doubt. I like how they're saving Mustafa Ali's TNA debut for No Surrender, where he'll challenge Sabin for the TNA X-Division Championship. They've effectively built it up through vignettes for Ali. Simon Gotch def. Jack PriceI thought Gotch attacking Alexander a few weeks ago was so random, but then Gotch explained last week that he was the one who Alexander beat the night Alexander was offered a contract with the company. Now it make sense. This still feels like a step down for Alexander because I couldn't care less about Gotch (and I'm apparently not alone based on how quiet the crowd was for his squash here), but hopefully the feud will be brief. Steve Maclin def. Trent SevenSeven didn't debut that long ago, so while it wasn't ideal for him to lose his TNA singles debut, it was more important for Maclin to go over before he takes on Nic Nemeth at No Surrender. This was a very good, competitive contest. On a side note, was reported this week that Maclin's TNA contract expires soon, and it will be interesting to see what decision he makes because he'd be a quality pickup for any promotion. Eric Young def. Big DamoFrankie Kazarian refused to face Young, so he introduced Damo as a ghost from Young's past. That was a cool surprise given their history in WWE's SAnitY stable along with how I don't think I've seen Damo wrestle since he was released by Damo three years ago. This wasn't given a ton of time, but that's fine since Damo isn't under contract to TNA to my knowledge. Young and Kazarian will have their match at No Surrender. Ash By Elegance def. Savannah ThorneThe former Dana Brooke was doing the same shtick in WWE for so many years that it was a breath of fresh air to see her do something differently here. I've never been her biggest fan as I didn't think she improved as much as she probably should have, but she deserves a chance to show what she can do in TNA with this new gimmick. This was a pretty straightforward showcase for her that didn't overstay its welcome. The System (TNA World Champion Moose, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) def. Kevin Knight and Time SplittersThis was a logical main event for the go-home show with members from both teams exchanging wins in recent weeks. It was very well wrestled, the action was entertaining and they received plenty of time. Knight sold that Spear from Moose like death at the end. Despite the heels going over (winning was necessary to establish them as a threat together), the babyfaces stood tall to close the show. Overall ShowThis show was the end of an era in a way as it marked the final edition of TNA iMPACT! where Scott D'Amore was in charge of the company (it was taped last month and D'Amore was fired a few weeks ago). As I've said before, I'm very curious to see what the product looks like starting with No Surrender tomorrow. There's a decent chance you won't notice a difference on television, but we will soon see. This was a serviceable go-home episode ahead of No Surender with some solid wrestling mixed in.
