![]() By David Joseph First and foremost, the elephant in the room should be addressed. This is obviously a site on pro wrestling. A genre that a lot of us love and a lot of us dislike. One thing that is for sure that at one point or another most have had a love for the entity that is pro wrestling. It is generally frowned upon that any non-wrestling discussions take place on a website like this. However, I believe this topic is relevant to all of us and have to express myself. Please bear with me there are some Sports Entertainment connections that I am going to make as it pertains to our latest presidential election. Donald Trump has officially been elected the 45th president of the United States. Many are outraged by the results of this election and completely have every right to feel that way. In the same manner that if Hillary Clinton became president, people have the right to express anger, sadness, happiness or however they feel. This is America after all and we have that right. ![]() Pro wrestling is an escape from the reality and the stresses of life. Just like any other sport or form of entertainment we watch and get sucked into the program. As much wrestling as I watch to create that escape I could not help but get up this morning feeling a little sad. This sadness has nothing to do with the candidates in the election or the results. This sadness is coming from the amount of people I see that feel like they have to live in fear now. This is the first time I have literally logged on to every social media account and the majority of people are panicking for their lives. There are I people I know personally that are legitimately ready to leave the country because of who are president is. There are literally friendships getting broken because one friend is in favor of Hillary Clinton and the other friend is in favor of Donald Trump. I am seeing all of this and it is a divide amongst us that I’m not sure some people involved are realizing. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were not perfect by any means. Many don’t know but this statement is coming from a black man, it is unfair to think that just because someone voted for Trump that he or she is a racist. It is unfair to think just because some voted for Clinton that he or she tolerates criminals. Who we voted for does not define us as people. We aren’t democrats and republicans, we are all human beings. What we do and how we handle this on a day to day basis ultimately defines us. We can’t let this stop us from enjoying the great gift of life. If you’re a pro wrestling fan, I’m sure you’ve heard every criticism out there. You’ve heard “you know it’s not real right?” My favorite one is “they’re not really athletes.” The person that doesn’t share your love and support for wrestling is not a bad person. The wrestling fan that is heavily invested in the product isn’t any more wrong either. Different perspectives are apart of all our lives. There shouldn’t be a divide. My message to everyone is if you like pro wrestling keep watching. If you do not like wrestling continue not to watch. If you love music go to a concert. Spend time with your loved ones, write a book, continue doing the things that keep you upbeat in life. Donald Trump is president but he doesn’t control your life. It’s no secret Donald Trump has connections to the WWE and Vince McMahon. The fan in me wonders whether WWE will actually use those connections on their programming in any manner over the next four years. It might be the biggest chorus of boos ever heard in an arena.
