It’s one of the most hyped-up fights of the year, a meeting between one of mixed martial arts’ current stars and one of boxing’s undefeated former stars. Two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor will meet boxer-turned-promoter Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 26 to put an end to their dispute and win the gigantic sum of money on offer.

But what’s to happen after the fight? Floyd Mayweather will, presumably, just return to his promoting regardless of the result, but Conor McGregor has a couple of different options, including a possible appearance in a WWE event.

McGregor Needs a Win to Continue Rise

For Conor McGregor to continue to rise in stardom through the sports world, he’ll need to pull off one of the biggest upsets of all time. Coming into the big event, Floyd Mayweather is, as many would expect, the heavy favorite at 1/7, with McGregor at 4/1 to win the fight.

Despite the odds of winning, there are some who see McGregor as incredibly underrated in the odds. Above all else, McGregor is a great fighter. While he may have little experience when it comes to boxing as a singular discipline, he possesses a wealth of knockout power, which he will need to utilize if he wants to win. Via this method, McGregor is 5/1 to win, and given Mayweather’s style and experience, you’d have to think that this is the only way that McGregor could win.

With the odds of McGregor winning by knockout, technical knockout, or disqualification being a point better than just to win, it would be a good idea to utilize the bet £5 and get a £20 free bet with the Coral betting offers as the Irishman might just pull it off.

If he can claim the victory, the wave of hype surrounding McGregor would continue to grow from mostly mixed martial arts fans to a great number of sports fans, with many businesses hoping to capitalize on the rising star.

Is McGregor WWE-Bound If He Wins?

The WWE is well-known for its integration of stars and celebrities outside of wrestling for their big events. From Muhammad Ali to Donald Trump, the WWE loves getting stars from all facets of the celebrity and sporting world to get involved. This even included Floyd Mayweather coming to WrestleMania XXIV in a No Disqualification match against The Big Show, which he won.

In recent times, wrestling stars have been called to action in response to Conor McGregor’s anti-wrestler comments, which culminated in Kurt Angle telling the Irishman to get into the wrestling ring. Despite his comments against WWE stars, calling them “messed up p*****s”, McGregor does incorporate a lot of showmanship synonymous with the wrestling world into his UFC promotion, such as his Ric Flair persona.

Bringing in Conor McGregor to face off against any – or maybe even all – of the stars who responded to his comments could be billed as a mega grudge match, even extending to McGregor becoming a recognized villain on the WWE scene. If he were to defeat Mayweather and then set his sights on conquering the WWE, it would create a huge buzz and use the hype around the UFC star to further promote the WWE’s greatest events.
