Curt Stallion def. Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, August Grey and Ashante "Thee" Adonis in an NXT Cruiserweight Championship No. 1 Contender's Fatal 5-Way Match
I honestly can't remember the last time a match to determine the number one contender to the Cruiserweight title was held on 205 Live, so that was cool. Those multi-man matches in the early days of 205 Live were always bangers and thus it was fitting for one to headline the 205th episode of 205 Live. This featured a nice mix of 205 Live originals in Nese and Daivari and fresh faces in Adonis, Stallion and Nese. I could have done without the random interference from The Bollywood Boyz and Ever-Rise, but otherwise, this was a ton of fun. They constantly kept things moving, everyone had their time to shine, and Stallion was the right winner as he's on the rise at the moment. I doubt Stallion will be the one to dethrone Santos Escobar as champ, but I hope that's more than a one-off and is instead a full-fledged feud over the title.
Props to WWE for actually putting in the effort with this episode and making the 205th edition of 205 Live feel like a genuinely special occasion. The brand has been the bastard child of WWE for years now, so that was appreciated. The Fatal 5-Way, while not among the best bouts in the show's history by any means, delivered and is worth seeking if you didn't catch it out. As you could probably tell, it was a very simple show this week and that's what I liked about it.
